This isn't 의해 me. It's from another website...I agree amshafe....Regina and Rumple/Gold are both VERY complex characters! They both HATE each other and it'll be a vicious 원, 동그라미 until Emma does something! Cora I think is the true villain of the story...not Rumple 또는 Regina because they have 'some' good in them...all this 'Rumple May Be Behind Everything!' is just a theory I came across....

Personal Once Upon A Time Theories and Revelations
So, after the finale, I was hit with this epiphany about the curse, Rumplestiltskin, Regina’s family, and the series in general, and I’ve finally organized all my thoughts about it because I’ve been meaning to do this since the finale, but alas, procrastination had gotten the better of me.

If 당신 haven’t seen the finale, there are major spoilers here. Also - to be honest, I haven’t really been keeping up with the fandoms’ theories, so I apologize if my revelation is obvious/outdated already, ha.

Anyway, here are the five main theories I have broken down and connected with regard to the series:

1. Rumplestiltskin did not start making deals until after Baelfire was lost, and both Rumplestiltskin and Baelfire are technically a lot older than we (at least, I) originally thought.

When we got that 초 glimpse into Rumple and Bae’s life before Bae disappeared (in the episode “The Return”), we saw Rumple intimidating his town, protecting his son as he saw fit - this included killing any threats. But, as you’ll notice, his victims in this episode were strictly those “threatening” people around him and his home. He did not appear to be showing up everywhere and making deals with seemingly 랜덤 people. I suspect that, before he 로스트 Bae, he didn’t deal at all. So naturally, the deals started as a way to bring him closer to finding a way to get his son back, to allow him to create and enact the curse that would help him find his son – the kind that the Blue Fairy alluded to in “The Return.” This would mean that the whole incident with Bae happened a long, long time 이전 in fairy tale land - before even Regina was born (if the rest of my theory is correct, anyway). Now, obviously magic prevents Rumple from outwardly aging, and we don’t know exactly what happened to Bae 또는 how old he would “appear” if he ever is found, but I would suspect something about the portal he went through probably allows him to appear conveniently around everyone else’s (Emma, August, The Charmings, etc.) age.

2. Rumplestiltskin planned on Regina enacting the curse and in fact used her (as well as many others) like a pawn in a game of chess.

Let’s take a 초 to tie all this in with Rumple’s own fairy tale: The Miller’s Daughter. Now, if 당신 don’t know Rumplestiltskin’s story, HERE is a link - it is pretty short, so if you’re not familiar with it, I advise 읽기 it because I have a feeling it is going to be important for 다음 season. Now, of course, Once Upon A Time alters these classic tales. In the episode “Stable Boy,” we hear Daniel mention that Regina’s mom was just a miller’s daughter before she married Regina’s father, so we can only assume she is the very same miller’s daughter from the story. What I suspect is that (in the show’s version of the tale) Rumplestiltskin made these deals with Cora in order to mold a pawn to do the dirty work of the curse. Henry Sr. was probably some sort of Duke (taking the role of the king in the story) that married Cora after she “spun straw into gold.” So, I’m gathering that Regina is the first born that Cora promised Rumplestiltskin, like in the story. Now, we know that Cora and Henry did raise Regina, so I think that Cora struck another deal with Rumple, one where she got to keep Regina. But in exchange, I think that Rumplestiltskin ended up getting some sort of control in their lives. Perhaps he transferred some dark magic to Cora (hence her powers) that thus left her soul dark in return 또는 simply a puppet for him to wield. Perhaps Rumple even told Cora what she must raise Regina to be – because it is clear from “Stable Boy” that Cora seems to want to beat the humanity out of young Regina (we saw how Regina used to be a very innocent girl, much like Snow White in fact, before Daniel died). I’m suggesting that Rumple could foresee that Regina had the potential to enact the curse for him if a certain chain of events happened, so he made sure they did happen. He probably made sure Cora knew the King was coming to town, and enticed her with the possibility of her daughter becoming queen, which as we see creates a chain of tragic events sends her into a dark and downward spiral and sets her hell-bent on revenge. Because, well, he needed someone to enact the curse. The only person he loved (or thought he would ever love, because Belle happened and I think that was something he never expected) was his son Bae, and since he had nothing left that he loved to sacrifice to enact the curse, he needed Regina. He knew Regina loved her father as well as Daniel, even after Daniel died, Rumple knew she had a sacrifice in Henry Sr. Essentially, he’s always had control over Regina and she never even knew it. Also, because he had a lot of Cora and Regina’s lifetime, it gave him plenty of time to create this curse.

3. Snow White and Prince Charming were pawns as well, but Rumplestiltskin used them in order to create a bottled form of true 사랑 that could either break the curse (should he need to) 또는 bring magic to our world (which we see happen in the season finale).

See, we know Rumplestiltskin loves his magic – he let his son get sucked into a vortex alone because he didn’t want to lose his powers, he even pushed Belle away when true love’s 키스 began to break the darkness in him. Naturally, he would want to bring magic into whatever new world he found himself in (especially if he thought it would help him 검색 for Bae). And, every curse has a key to break it, which brings us to Snow White and Charming. There’s a reason he helped Snow White and Prince Charming find each other, and thus there is also a reason why their child happened to be “the savior.” Rumple made it so, like some crazy puppet master-mind. In controlling Regina, he also laid a hand in Snow White’s fate, indirectly leading her to her chance meeting with Prince James. In the episode “The Shepherd,” we learned that James was just a commoner whose twin brother was given to King George for an heir to the throne. When this twin brother dies, the Shepherd boy (the Prince James we know and love) takes his place in a deal that, lo and behold, Rumplestiltskin procured. Rumplestiltskin leaves his fingerprints on everything, huh? Coincidence? Possibly, but I personally really do not think so. To me it seems like Rumplestiltskin led these two together because he knew they had true 사랑 (because he’s the Dark One and his powers are virtually endless) and he knew he could use them (and their daughter) to break his curse. I think Rumplestiltskin is a mastermind who would totally go through these great lengths to get his son back because, like Regina said in the episode “Snow Falls”: “Not having someone, well that’s the worst curse imaginable.”

4. Rumplestiltskin wanted the curse to break the entire time.

This ties in with what I’ve said above; he brought Snow and Charming together so that their true 사랑 would produce the key to breaking the curse (this key being, of course, Emma). Why make and enact the curse just to have it broken? Because the curse transported him to our world, where we can only assume Baelfire must be as well. He needed a way to get here to find his son – I’m sure he could care less about everyone else losing their memories. I’m going to guess that part of the curse was meant to entice Regina into enacting it, because it would make it seem like it benefits her the most. The curse was just a means to an end. He knew that when it broke, it wouldn’t necessarily send everyone back to fairyland, but it would give him the opportunity to bring magic back to this world (as we can see, because he tricked Emma into slaying Maleficent and handing over the magic in the egg – magic that he sent over for this purpose). In bringing magic to this world, which could help him find his son and/because it keeps him powerful and almost untouchable. Now, how can we be sure that Rumple wanted to break the curse? This answer lies with Henry. In the 초 episode, “The Thing 당신 사랑 Most,” we learn through a conversation between Gold and the Mayor that Mr. Gold was the one who found Henry for Regina to adopt. It’s clear that he knew who Henry’s biological mother was, and that he banked on Henry bringing Emma to Storybrooke. I can’t remember if this was mentioned in the show 또는 if it’s just something I’m assuming, but I believe that Mr. Gold originally sold/gave Mary Margaret the storybook that she eventually gave to Henry. The same storybook that revealed the truth about fairytales and the curse to Henry, and that led him to find Emma. Now, we don’t know how Henry found out/knew that he was adopted, but I’m guessing that when he found information on his real mother, he put it together that she was the baby Emma from his fairytale book. In any case, Gold must have wanted Emma to come and break the curse, because why else would he have specifically hunted down her son for Regina to conveniently adopt?

5. Ultimately, all this is about Baelfire.

또는 least, that’s how it all started. Regina getting her happy ending (the curse itself was never meant to actually give Regina her happy ending, since Rumple intended on breaking it anyway), The Charmings finding each other again, these are just fronts that Rumple has dangled before these characters in order to achieve his goals. Am I insinuating that Rumplestiltskin is behind just about everything? To put it plainly, yes, 또는 at least everything I’ve laid out in these theories. Now, this isn’t an attack on the man; it’s obvious that the destruction he caused was all because of his 사랑 for his son. Also, he is clearly very much corrupted 의해 the dark power within him. But, as I think you’ll see, everything traces back to Rumplestiltskin, back to the point where he absolutely snapped because he 로스트 the only important thing he had left: his son, Baelfire.

The finale seemed to tie all this together for me, and with each episode I’ve re-watched, I become 더 많이 and 더 많이 convinced that Rumplestiltskin was calling the shots the entire time. Granted, there are some things he didn’t bank on – such as Belle and August. Belle, for the obvious reason of 사랑 and August/Pinocchio for his trickery and avoidance of the curse. But, these are also things that didn’t even concern him until he found himself faced with them. The “main characters” though, if 당신 will, definitely concerned him and so they are who he sunk his fingers into. Again, I am not trying to point fingers 또는 place blame solely on Rumplestiltskin; this is all merely my revelation after I finished the season finale, a sort of epiphany that came to me as I connected the dots.
