"Mother, why do the police push people back?" Heinrich asked as he held onto his mothers coat. "Why are they so scared? What are the monsters?"
Heinrich's mother, Helena was always composed for someone who always seemed to be doing so much. She had 초콜릿 curly brown hair that was clipped back and ruby red lipstick that she always wore. She had on a fur-lined 코트 made of 여우 모피 and pearl earrings, fitting of someone of her noble status. She looked from the balcony of the hotel that they were standing at as police clashed against protestors, some of them looking like monsters. This time to her sons 질문 she merely looked over at him, her hands folded as she smiled. "Nothing to concern yourself over dear child- please bother your brother, okay?" She asked of him. "Hiram needs some company."
"And 당신 mother?" Heinrich asked her. "What do 당신 need?"
"Some time with god." Helena replied to her son.
God. That was something his mother had been confiding in lately- something Heinrich could never fully 덮개, 랩 his head around yet believed in to a degree. He wondered why god would let things become so terrifying then if he cared so much- perhaps it wasn't real? That is was just a dream and the monsters weren't real. Heinrich walked to his older brother who sat on the bed, rubbing his nose. "Where's father?"
"Doing important stuff." Hiram mumbled out. He was seven years Heinrich's senior and from the look of it wasn't faring like their mother did.
"Yeah like what?" Heinrich asked him.
"Not sure." Hiram said before looking outside. "Chances are he's dead, Heinrich." He frowned. "And he's not our dad."
Heinrich looked down, feeling a sinking feeling in his stomach. "Dead?"
"Yeah, the monsters are coming and-" Hiram flew across the 침대 as his mother slapped him with her bare hand, having her red 장갑 in her other hand.
"Shut your mouth devil child!' Helena barked at her son.
Heinrich looked at the two, knowing from his mothers response Hiram was right. He stepped back, feeling his 심장 pound before looking outside to 확인 it. The monsters had taken over the police and they were running back as the larger monsters began to take over buildings. It was then that the roof of their building began to shake and Helena began to rush to grab things. "Mother, what is happening?!"
"We are LEAVING." Helena said to him, grabbing a revolver and grabbing her youngest son's hand. Hiram swung open the door and let them run out, beasts flooding the hotel. It seemed like a movie to Heinrich as his mother held his hand, aiming back at two beasts that had climbed up the balcony and came out the door that reminded him of serpents. She fired back, sounding off the first gunshot he ever heard as he saw the bullet shred through the beasts face. He assumed it dead, seeing it fall down before it's wound began to close before his very eyes.
Helena ran as fast as she could while holding him, getting to the 불, 화재 escape and going down as the sounds from the room got 더 많이 intense. 의해 the time they got to the bottom floor the roof was half way collapsed and getting worse- a massive creature resembling a 늑대 that stood on two legs and having two massive clawed hands at the top. It stared down towards the alley, seeing the escaping humans and let out an ear shrieking howl, causing the building to began to shake and collapse under neath it while Helena led her children through the alley just as it was blocked 의해 rubble.
"Mother where are we going?!" Hiram asked, holding a stone as if it'd protect him.
"Hiram I do not know!" Helena asked as she looked out towards the alley. Beasts were everywhere, staring up as the helicopters flew out from the city past the walls of concrete as tall as five stories.

"Blood pooled on the floor as I navigated the city with my mother and my brother. I never realized my mother could fight like that but when it came to protecting us she got creative, to the point of making sure nothing got in our way. The first night we found cover in an old sandwhich 샵 where my mother had shot the owner when he refused to let us in, having began to baricade it. That was the first time I ever saw what someone's brains looked like- the way his head popped like a 콩 being squished was...one of the 더 많이 interesting things i've seen though the whole 일 was full of learning."
Hans sat in front of Heinrich who was tied to a chair bloody- Hans wearing a leather butchers 앞치마 covered in dried blood. Hans had just tore out his finger nails one 의해 one, telling Heinrich he'd make it faster if he told him an interesting story and with a lesson that came with it. "Interesting interesting- so it was a right slaughterhouse!" Hans grinned. "And your mother...killing a man in cold blood."
"Well he was refusing to let us in unless she had sex with him and she had a pretty bad day- plus...as a woman of God that didn't sit well with her." Heinrich said as he felt a numbing feeling coming onto him- his voice slightly hoarse from the screaming.
"I'd take a break but these are too good, too good!" Hans smirked, taking his pliers to his middle finger nail before realizing it wasn't long enough to grab. He took it away, taking a flathead 드라이버 and placing it between the nail and skin, taking a hammer and slamming it to rip the nail up, causing Heinrich to scream and writhe so hard that the straps holding him cut deep, causing him to bleed while his voice began to fade out from screams.

That night the children ate the remaining 음식 while she licked some grease off the stove, having anything to fill the void. She wondered 다음 how to get out of Berlin- perhaps to get to the countryside to get to a less populated area with her sons. She had twelve bullets left besides the three remaining in her chamber and she was trying to make each one count but she knew it wouldn't last. She broke off the end of a broom, sharpening it before handing it to Heinrich. "Here, use this. Keep the beasts at a distance if they're too close- at least scare em."
"And me?" Hiram asked.
"Well you're a clever boy- 당신 see the cutting knives?" Helena asked him. "Get one. Then we'll pray."
Hiram did as his mother asked before getting with her and Heinrich on his knees, each of them collapsing their hands together. "I'll lead us." Hiram said quietly. "Oh merciful son of our lord, 예수님 Christ please lead us through this time of trial of tribulation. Please give sanctuary and mercy to those that do not know your name and to those under attack from those servants of Lucifer. Please God, have mercy for my mother, my brother, my step father and myself and to guide us to safety. Lord, we ask of these things humbly and hope that 당신 forgive us of our sin and save us. In your name, amen."
