Kate and Gibbs??!! There wasn't much chemistry between Kate and Gibbs, maybe between Kate and Tony, anyway between Jennifer and Gibbs there is much more chemistry I think

That's just what I was going to say it was tony and kate not gibbs. but what about lt.col.Mann I can't remember her first name but they were practically living together still not sure whats going on there.

You OBVIOUSLY didn't watch S1&2-Tony and Kate talk too much so I don't think something was ment to happen-too much talking,no action, although the writers like playing with this aspect of the show.Not to mention that it was Tony ,who had a hots for Kate,which doesn't mean Kate had to be in love with him-Kate liked him-a lot-but not with the same force.

Kibbs had a very big potential-don't you remember the the staring. There have been hundreds of intense looks between Gibbs and Kate. That's what DPB did with Harm and Mac for years - lots of stares.Based on their interaction in "Yankee White", I don't think Gibbs feelings toward Kate were anything close to fatherly. After all, she's definitely a strong-willed woman,something I imagine all his women have been.I think Kate and Gibbs saw something in each other when they first met on Air Force One.After he hired her, her admiration for him grew. It's clear she tried to impress him with her investigative skills .We can easily see that Kate feels an attraction to Gibbs (like who wouldn't?) He may feel something, too, but I think he'd be better at hiding - or ignoring - it. She would try to hide it, but find herself staring, or sketching, or something. how Gibbs would handle Kate's attraction - I think probably the same way Grissom in CSI handle's Sara's fancy for him - trying to pretend its not there, and that he doesnt feel the same due to some silly belief that the work is more important. Before Kate died, I saw a lot of subtext with her and Gibbs. I could see a women like Kate catching Gibbs and keeping him. And Kate can learn from him through not only the job, but life.They make each other 'whole' in some way.


About Jen-I honestly can't understand her-she act toward Gibbs like a dog,who don't want to eat the bone,but don't want to give it to someone else eather.She don't want to have a relationship with him/Kill Ari:'There will be no'off the job'/then during all S3,4and 5 she flirts with him.What kind of person she is?The writters want to show us how independed and confident woman she is,but she brandish her authority too often /which is a weakness for a boss/-remember Hiatus I and the all conversation with the Head nurse ,and when Gibbs don't act toward her like a Director,she melt.I 've seen her to act propertly only a few times in all 3 seasons.I sometimes think that she may have skills,but she don't know how and when to use them.

Sometimes I wonder do we watch a same show.:) Don't you remember Kate did the sketch of Gibbs-I think the ep. was 1.3: Seadog-both of Abby and Tony sketches where charactures where as the one of Gibbs was a serious one - her sketch depicts him as she sees him.Don't you remember 'The Curse'-Gibbs pick up Kate's cup and take a long drink from it- I totally loved the look on her face!:P Don't you remember Minimum Security-I sort of felt that Gibbs was trying to convince himself about the relationships between agents not working. He had a longing look as Kate was walking away.Don't you remember Sub Rosa-there were so many things they coulda shown to demonstrate the sub angling quickly. Kate coulda fallen off a chair or somthing, but no, they had to make her fall into Gibbs' arms. Don't you remember Tony made a comment about a rose tattoo on her butt, and Gibbs said it wasn't a rose in 1.12 My Other Left Foot.Don't you remember at the beginning of Revile, Gibbs has a nightmare of Kate being in a body bag.Than,latter,Kate call him her boyfriend.Don't you remember the butt slap that Gibbs gave Kate in 2.6: Terminal Leave.Don't you remember 'An Eye for an Eye' -the all conversation with the lady and Kate's reaction to that:Wow!.Don't you remember the all conversation about virues and the 'Play safe-go with Tony 'line in 'SWAK'and so on,and so on...
The last ,but not the least-don't you remember that DPB tried to diffuse the spark between them- he added the mysterious red head to prevent the tension between Kate and Gibbs-and if all that's not an Unresolved Sexual Tension ...:)

Then you didn't watch the S1 and most of S2-I think that Gibbs and Kate's scenes and interaction are much more subtle in comparision to Tony and Kate's scenes and interaction in S2.Noy to mention that the thin and elusive flirting is so much beter than the screaming'Look at me-I have hots for her' flirting-especially since it's one sided-Tony had a hots for Kate-she likes him very much,but not with the same force. Just read kibbs reply and you will see that waht Kate and Gibbs had was really UST-at the start of the series, Kate and Tony had some great banter, but then the writers turned her into more of a prude who was constantly scandalized by what Tony said.Tony seemed way more immature and Kate totally uptight whenever they had to interact. Instead of standing up at least to Tony she went into an adolescent rivalry with him that was just pathetic in my opinion.

I would've liked to have seen Gibbs and Kate develop--something between them.There was real warmth between those two characters, even when they were sniping at each other. Don't believe me? Go back and look at the DVDs of seasons 1 and 2, and notice the looks and the smiles that passed between them on a regular basis. Usually rather subtle,but there was heat, or at least real warmth! Now THAT could've made Gibbs break his own Rule 12.

Most of the 'Jibbs' action seems to be on Jen's side. Gibbs was willing to renew their relationship at the beginning of S3, but Jen shot him down. She had her second chance at whatever it was they had in Europe. Gibbs has moved on.

Ultimately, I think that they are going to be good friends. But only friends; because no matter that Jen appears to have changed her mind, Gibbs won't.

Jen and Gibbs have history together so obviously they go well together!

Gibbs even said "I missed you jen" in kill ari. He obviously wanted to get back together with her! Plus, jenny left gibbs to do 'what's best for her' or her career, but i think she regretted it.

For me the question is "which relationship can work better"-I think it's Kate/Gibbs.Even he was her superior,Gibbs respected her and her opinion.Kate always stood up for her opinion,and even when Gibbs sees she is not right,he respect that.Kate respectd Gibbs too- more than she respect Tony. I see that now between Gibbs and Ziva,but not between Gibbs and Jen.They are almost in the same position like Kate and Gibbs,but look at the way Gibbs treat Jen-he doesn't respect her like his superior at all.I agree with dg102-Jen doesn't know what she wants.To leave someone,because he doesn't fit in your 5 point plan,don't make me fond of her character too.If she love him,then she should tell him,and the let the rest go to Hell.But if she wanted to be a Director,and that means not to have anything with Gibbs,then she had to act like a Director,not to be curious about his personal life/if he decide to tell her,it's OK/,and to earn his respect.In other words,she had to make a decision,and to hold to it. I don't know why we think it will work with Kate-maybe because the producer of the show commented on the chemestry between Kate and Gibbs?Or maybe because Gibbs revised his convictions only once and apologised to her?Or maybe because besides Ducky, Kate was the only person he never head slapped?Or because he dreamt about her and she dreamt about him?I can think of many other resons why Kate and Gibbs can work-Kate is the only woman with whom I see him braking rule #12.

If Jen could handle Gibbs,then why he didn't show her the respect he should?Why she always had to order him to do his job?Yes,they cared for one another-like we all would cared for a person we were in love and now he/she is only a friend-but that's all.He said "NO" to her advances in "Lost and Found".For me,Gibbs loved her as someone he'd known for a long time-he didn't loo at her like a potential lover.he wasn't in love with her anymore, but he still cared for her. I think that the whole Frog thing and her behavior may have erased any possibility of loving her anymore.

Kate and Gibbs had a lot more chemestry than Jen and Gibbs simply becauseKate didn't broke his heart and was always by his side-she never betrayed his trust in her, like Jen did.

I'm a jibbs person myself. I never really pictured Kate and Gibbs together, I saw it more as a mentor/mentee relationship. There is no doubt in my mind that Gibbs loved Kate, I mean she risked her life for him, did everything she could to protect him, etc. However, I don't necessairly think that Gibbs had romantic feelings towards Kate. With jenny, it seemed as if there was a lot of unresolved tension, and issues, and I for one, would have liked to see how things would have played out between them. I would have loved a flashback episode, or something along those lines. But that's just me.

Reasons I Know Kate and Gibbs Loved Each Other

1. He said please to her when asking to join her on AFO. The only other person he said please to was Jen.
2. He revised his convictions only once and apologised to her - in one of the most heartbreaking scenes I've ever witnessed.
3. He bought her coffee and she didn't object.
4. He shared her coffee and she didn't object.
5. He allowed her to call him a bastard twice - to his face no less.
6. He knew things no one else did, besides maybe Abby - e.g. her shoe size.
7. He dreamt about her.
8. She dreamt about him.
9. He opened up to her about his marriages - he didn't complain when she questioned him about his ex wives.
10. She advised him he needed glasses and he got them.
11. He only offered his chewing gum to her - twice.The only other person he offered a gum was Hllis Mann- his lover.
12. He laughed and joked with her.
13. She didn't get offended with some of his remarks the way she did with Tony.
14. She didn't call him immature or get offended when he asked if she was going to try on the bikini Tony bought her.
15. He threatened to stick his foot up Tony's ass for making a remark aboout Kate.
16. Besides Ducky, Kate was the only person he never head slapped.
17. He was the only one able to make her stumble over her words and get flushed when talking about certain things.
18. She allowed him, with only minor upset, to chain her up.
19. He always hovered close in her personal space and she responded in a similar way.
20. She asked once if he'd ever bought flowers and he said no. He bought flowers, red roses, to place on the rooftop.
21. He always silently watched her when he was at his desk, usually at the end of a case or similar

About Jen/Gibbs- something already happened between them and I don't think they're going back. There's some anger there that won't let that happen+ Gibbs never trusted Jen enough about the work and his personal life- I don't think he could have something with a woman, who sent him a "Dear John letter".

Kate was awesome and kept Gibbs in check. She brought out a softer side of Gibbs. Kate was able to call Gibbs on things that no-one has been able to since, and I loved how the two of them joked around. Jen, I think, regretted her 5-Point plan, but could not swallow her pride and admit she was wrong. She was rarely honest with herself- the only time I saw it was in JD. The reason to really not to like the character was the fact she ofeten regretted the decisions she made about her life, but did nothing to take another path.I don't think Gibbs was in love with her-especially in the line of the fact Gibbs didn't fit into her "5 Year Plan", so she dumped him. Excuse me, but that's not true- we live in 21 senture-beside that your statement means Jane Eyre and Edward Rochester or Scarlet and Rhett Butler (Gone with the wind) is gross too- but their remance is a prove for stronglove relationship, amazing chemestry and romance.

Agree with fanfic_writer - there are so many examples for great relationships with big age difference (mine included)-it's stupid to call them gross,because they are not. If you don't believe in K&G chemestry, go back and watch the first 2 seasons, see the looks between them,which pass on regular bases. If a friend of mine say half of the things,which Gibbs said to Kate,I will think he has a crush on me.
