Blame It On My Youth

Tony paced the floor around McGee's desk, so much that the carpet was wearing away. His hand were in his pockets and worry was spread across his face. He stopped and slid his fingers through his short, brown hair. McGee look up at him and sighed.

"Tony, will 당신 stop worrying?! Everything is going to be fine." he assured him, as he stopped working at his computer momentarily.

"Listen, McPsychic, 당신 don't know that for sure. This has got to be perfect."

McGee looked at him, surprised. He had never seen Tony this nervous before. The NCIS 크리스마스 Ball was two weeks away and McGee, Gibbs and Abby knew why he wanted everything to be just right.

"Look, if Gibbs tells 당신 it's going to be alright, will 당신 believe him?"

Tony thought about it for a moment, his concentration face on. "Maybe, he'll probably slap me for worrying too much."

"Ya think, Dinozzo?" Gibbs strolled in, a cup of coffee clutched in his hand.

"Sorry boss, it's just that I'm..." Tony was interrupted 의해 a frantically coughing McGee, who was pointing towards the elevator. Tony could see Abby and Ziva walking towards them.

Tony started panicking, and Gibbs decided to help him out. "DiNozzo, with me."

"Yes, boss." he darted away at lightning speed, following Gibbs' lead and leaving a dumbstruck Ziva wondering why he was ignoring her. Abby and McGee exchanged knowing glances, then looked on a Ziva, tears welling up in her eyes.

Gibbs dragged Tony into the elevator, and before they'd even reached another floor, Gibbs had flicked the emergency switch, bringing it to a halt.

"Dinozzo, I know this is hard to believe, but I know what 당신 are going through. To be so in 사랑 당신 don't know wether to dance around 또는 puke. But seriously, everything is going to be fine."

Tony looked down at his shoes, his hands shaking. "Please, tell me what to do." His voice croaked and he lifted his head up, meeting with Gibbs.

"Stop. Worrying." He raised his arm and slapped him around the back of the head. Tony smiled, knowing that if he followed orders, everything would be the way it was supposed to be. Gibbs grinned back, bearing his teeth and flicked back the emergency switch.

The water was refreshing. It dripped off her face as she lifted her head up. She had needed to get out of there. Glancing at herself in the mirror, she replayed what had just happened in her head.

The elevator 'pinged' as the doors slid open. She and Abby had stepped out and she saw Tony, Gibbs and McGee sitting at his desk, coughing.

"So 당신 wanna go out for lunch today?" Abby inquired.

"Yeah, sure, why not? I'm sure we'll have nothing big on today." She replied and smiled her trademark Ziva smile.

Before they had got to the Bullpen, Gibbs said "DiNozzo, with me" and they'd both scooted past her and Abby, toward the elevator. Tony glanced at her briefly, his baby blues full of anxiety.

She strolled into the bullpen with Abby, looking back as she went. She placed her bag on her 책상, 데스크 and just stared at the elevator hopefully, wishing he would return.

"I can't do this anymore." she tearfully choked as she ran past Abby.

"Ziva, wait!"

She stopped short of the ladies bathroom door, turning to face her.

"What can't 당신 do anymore Ziva? Concern was spread across her 프렌즈 face.

"Keep pretending...." Abby prompted her to go on, but her mouth wouldn't let her speak. Her heartbeat rapidly increased as she carried on, ".... that I'm not in 사랑 with Tony."

"Oh, Ziva!" Abby pulled her into a massive 곰 hug, Ziva signalling to Abby to let her go when lack of oxygen was becoming a problem. "Sorry." She pulled an innocent face. "How long have 당신 known?"

"I think I've always known." Tears flowed down her cheeks and she quickly wiped them away, not wanting anybody to see her like this.

"Who else knows? If 당신 don't mind me asking."

"Just the director, Ducky and Jimmy." she replied.

"And I'm finding out about this now?!"

"I just never found the right time, I guess."

"Okay, I forgive you." Abby whispered sweetly.

Ziva chuckled half-heartedly. "I don't mean to sound rude, but I think I'd just like to be alone for a minute."

"Of course, Ziva."

Ziva pushed to door halfway when she called her back again. "Abby, promise not tell Tony.... please."

Abby could see the desperation and heartbreak in her eyes. "Pinky swear." She held out her pinky finger and joined it with Ziva's.

Abby would probably tell McGee, but she didn't mind that. McGee wouldn't tell Tony, he knew what she'd do to him if he did.

She decided it was time for her to get back to the bullpen. They were probably all waiting for her. She grabbed her 재킷, 자 켓 and headed for the door.

Tony was sat back at his desk, talking on the phone. She looked at McGee, who gave her a signal that he knew. He smiled at her softly. She simpered back. She liked how he made her feel comforted and he didn't even know it.

She got stuck into her work, peering up at Tony occasionally.

"Okay, thanks for your help." Tony hung up the phone and smiled at her, nervously.

Why is he playing with my mind like that? First, he doesn't even want to look at me, now he's smiling at me. What is going on?

All she knew was that her 심장 was breaking, and there was only one thing she could do to stop it.
