All of my life, I've wanted to be a professional DJ. One to create original music, the one that will persuade ponies to come and listen as they strut their stuff on the dancefloor.
    
    But sadly that goal won't be made. I only expose my DJ-ing and remixes to myself. I live in Ponyville. A small town lying in Equestria ruled 의해 Princess Celestia and Luna who run the successful monarchy.
    
    This is the type of town that everypony knows everypony. But, it seems that nopony knows me in particular. I tend to be rather quiet than loud and rambunctious like most ponies would think I'd be. It's because they don't know me at all.
    
    The only ponies that personally know me are my cousin Rarity who runs the Carousel Boutique and makes outfits for everypony, and my best friend Octavia Pie who lives far away in Canterlot. She plays the cello in a band called Little Symphony.
    
    I trot along a path to the Carousel Boutique, the moon shining brightly above me, to see my 가장 좋아하는 cousin Rarity. Earlier in the day, she'd asked me to stop 의해 to model some dresses for her; to see which one she should use for her 다음 fashion show. As a cousin, I accepted the kind offer. See, if I wasn't Rarity's cousin, I would've turned her down since I don't like all that girly stuff. It's just too much for a mare to handle. Especially one like me.
    
    "Vinyl! I'm so glad you're here!" Rarity exclaims as I enter the well-decorated area of the boutique. I don't see any clothing around for me to try on. Just various 색깔 of purple on the 벽 and 조랑말 mannequins with no clothes on.
    
    "Uhhh... What're we doing?" I question, cautious not to hurt Rarity's feelings. "What about the dresses I'm supposed to model?"
    
    "Oh, Darling, we won't be doing that." Rarity states as she walks closer to me, her eyes locked on mine.
    
    This is just getting awkward. I knew my cousin was into romance but I never thought she'd be interested in molesting family.
    
    "I have big news!" she exclaims, clapping her hooves together. Her horn glows a sky blue light and she teleports a piece of white paper with scribbled 글쓰기 that looks like it was written 의해 a filly.
    
    Monday night
    February 21st
    
    Tell cousin Vinyl she got a gig.
    
    A gig? I got a gig! My blood red eyes widen as my smile gets bigger and bigger 의해 the second. I give Rarity a tightly squeezed hug as she tries to pull away.
    
    "I hope 당신 excused the handwriting," Rarity says as she gasps for air after the hug. "I ordered Sweetie Belle to write this note down."
    
    Of course Rarity would do that. She loves making ponies do stuff that she can do herself but doesn't bother to.
    
    "No problem," I say. "Now, where's the 작살, 공연 going to take place?"
    
    Please be Fillydelphia, Fillydelphia! My raspy voice mumbles under my breath. I look at Rarity, waiting for an answer from my snooty relative.
    
    "Oh goodness me I have no idea!"
    
    My 심장 sinks. That's it? She only knows that I have a 작살, 공연 but doesn't know where it is?
    
    This surprises me. Rarity is the one 조랑말 that I know who would get any type of information from anypony. Whether it's fashion tips 또는 gossip secrets.
    
    "Well, thanks for the news though. I'll be leaving."
    
    "No wait Vinyl!"
    
    I stop in front of the exit and look at Rarity. Her eyes starting fill with tears.
    
    "I'm sorry. I know should have asked Hoity Toity to-"
    
    "HOITY TOITY?!" I scream out loud. I run to Rarity and shake her.
    
    "Hoity Toity is my manager?!"
    
    "Y-y-y-y-y-y-eeeeeessssss." Rarity manages to say as her eyes derp.
    
    Ever since I was a filly, Rarity and I have been shaking each other until we get the information we deserve. It's one of our many flaws that we share.

"I can't believe it!"
    "Well believe it cousin!"
    
    I jump up and down in delight and joy. But the thing is, I get really scared when I get on stage. This is going to be a tough challenge.
    
    "But, 당신 did just fine when 당신 were my DJ at my fashion show." Rarity tells me after I say I can't do it.
    
    "That's different Rarity. There weren't that many ponies there. And none of them even knew my name. This time, everyone will be chanting Vinyl! Vinyl! like it's my birthday!"
    
    I huddle up in a corner, my legs underneath me and my face terrified.
    
    "Hmmm... maybe they don't have to."
    
    "What are 당신 talking about?"
    
    "I'm saying that 당신 could have a stage name instead of Vinyl Scratch!"
    
    That's a pretty good idea but I really doubt I can come up with a good stage name. There was the time when I thought my stage name could be DJ DJ. Didn't really work out for me.
