Mixed feelings - I'm not a fan of their actual music, but when it comes to the animation in their videos, that blows me away every time. That said, I don't know of too many "animated bands" besides them (when I was in my early teens, we had some music videos that got shown on Cartoon Network by an animated pop group called the V-Birds, but that's all I can think of).
