I don't think I've ever enjoyed a single Kate-centric. She is the most irrational character I've ever seen.

Half the time I wanted her to get hit by a bus with the way she played Jack and Sawyer. By the time season 6 started, I figured she deserved to be alone. At one time I wanted Jack and Juliet to end up together (season 3/4). So when Sawyer and Juliet fell in love it took me a while to come around. I eventually did because even I couldn't deny that their relationship was incredibly believable. I guess when I saw how Juliet treated Jack, I wanted him to have that stability; that loyalty. However, after watching the episode where Juliet died (ironic, yes?) I knew Suliet's love went deeper than Skate's or JJ's [not that JJ were ever in love] ever did. What impressed me about Suliet was that Sawyer was actually in a healthy relationship - one that he was prepared to take as far as marriage. Then once again, it was Jack and Kate tip toeing around each other's hearts. It still bothers me rewatching the series and seeing the way Kate comfortably made her way back and forth between Jack and Sawyer; and the two never seemed to mind! I mean, it was like she had a spell over those two. Kate was incredibly beautiful, yes, but her character was one of the most annoying on the show. That whole girl next door with plus plus sexuality thing really got old - fast. Anyhow, she and Jack do fit together the best. I shipped them in the beginning, then hated her for what she put Jack through: Going at it with sawyer but keeping Jack on a tight leash like a broken puppy dog? Please. However, my loathe melted away somewhat in the series finale - better late than never, right? Finally, we got to see that Kate wanted jack - there was no mistake about it. She finally made her choice. Again, better late than ever. What really sealed it for me with Jate was the fact that it didn't appear that Kate and Sawyer hooked up again after they left Jack to die on the island (judging from how Skate hugged in the afterlife at that church as if they hadn't seen each other in a while). That showed me that Kate's love for Jack stayed faithful, as did Sawyer's for Juliet.

To be honest, I don't really think any of the Losties are overrated. Sawyer has a huuuuge fanbase, so that's why I picked him. He definitely deserves the love, though :P

I never understood the love for Charlie either. The only reason I didn't vote for him was because of his absence in the last 3 seasons.

I mean Dom certainly has a quirky way about himself, and that carried over to Charlie perfectly (Charlie running down the hospital hallway in gown & Vans LMAO) but apart from his lighter moments, I never liked his 'rockstar junkie' drama. The fact that his fans bordered on psychotic when the writers killed him baffled me, because he had basically nothing to do anymore after season 1.

K, well I understood the question differently. I answered understanding it as overrated on the show - not overrated on the fanbase. The show made Kate a very significant character and I really thought they shoulda downplayed her more. I just hated how she had Jack and Sawyer on a short leesh. And for the record, I don't hate kate - I just thought she was annoying most of the time. She made a good sidekick for Jack...when she wasn't ruining everything...
I had no idea about the fanbase. I didn't know so many people hated Kate - it kinda makes me feel better for loathing her personality most of the time, and hating her sway on our leading men :P

Anyhow, if Lesly can clarify what she meant with the pick, I'll answer differently if I misunderstood it.
And I agree with livelydebate about sawyer. He's definitely not a guy who'd melt me - he's a handsome guy but the way he carried himself made me laugh, not melt :D

Definately Charlie. He never really brought much to the show - and he went through a phase where he wasnt himself ... then he redeemed himself by dying. And he was brought back sooo many times after his death....yawn.

I think Jack is overrated. Tons of people love him and I don't understand why. But I agree, Sawyer is overrated as well...I never really got why so many people liked Claire either......Just my opinion.

Jack is not overrated by fans. I see so many comments by all people, who hate him. Why can´t you see it too?
And writers are the reason, not Jack or Matthew. They made him as an very interesting character in season 6, not before. Before 6 season, they ruined and destroyed him every season - this bomb in season 5, gosh (expect season 1), where he was normal yet.

It was Sawyer who was bad guy in the first 3 seasons but they made him as funny and sexy character (creature) and people don´t mind it (come on, do you think that I don´t know Damon from Vampire diaries or Eric from True blood?? - another bad guys, who all that world love :)) ) and I see so many love for him everywhere. He is overrated. I like fun but I prefer seriousness in LOST. And maybe because of Matthew, who is great actor.

Damon Lindelof showed his love for Jack the way that he destroyed him at first and in the last season he fixed him again. I understand it but many other people probably don´t. That´s why I don´t understand why people think that he´s overrated. He´s not. Maybe by Darlton.

And then, here is Jack... He's dull and self-loving asshole. He looks like shit and has no sence of humor. Hairs are way too short and I always fell asleep when he has flashback/flashsides or whatever, Not to mention how annoying he is. I would shoot him aftter one day on the island with him because I wouldn't stand how he's always trying to be smart. He acts like he's the leader but he's nothing more then old, gross freak with no brains self pitying himself...

How can anyone like him? He's like the worst, the ugliest and the most annoying character in this series.

Anyway, overrated? Charlie comes to mind first. Apart of a couple funny moments and his death he really had nothing to offer and was often a jerk.
