We don\'t want to give you false hopes of mum and dad getting back together for Christmas, but Liam Payne has re-followed Sophia Smith on Instagram, and the One Direction fandom is proclaiming it an early festive miracle. ​

Three weeks on and Directioners are still struggling to come to terms with the fact that they are now the children of a broken home, after mother and father Liam Pane and Sophia Smith decided to call it quits on their relationship. 

Liam was said to be \'absolutely devastated\' by the unexpected split, but just when you thought you were going to have to decide whether to spend your weekends with mum or dad, there\'s been an interesting turn of events.

Screenshots started spreading like cheese on a cracker across Twitter last night, seemingly showing evidence that Liam had decided to give Sophia an Instagram follow again, after she recently made her profile public for the first time. 

However, the course of love never did run smoothly, so that\'s where things get a bit confusing. When you head onto Liam\'s own Instagram page, it clearly says that he\'s following zero people. None. Zero. Zilch. Nada.

But click on that zero to go to his empty follow list, and you\'ll clearly see Sophia\'s Instagram username is the only person on there, along with a big green tick next to it seemingly confirming that he IS following her once again after recently deleting her.

Yes it\'s a fairly minor development but at this stage in our heartbreak, we\'ll take what we can get.

Although it\'s tempting to assume that Liam and his ex-missus must be back in business, there are also rumours that this could mean there\'s been some kind of blocking involved, as well as the possibility that it could just be the Instagram gods playing a cruel glitch on all of us. NOOO.
