Why are the barricade boys called "Friends of the ABC"?

I couldn't put this in 퀴즈 because it doesn't really work as a multiple choice, but if 당신 know the answer 또는 당신 know french go ahead (hint: it is a french play on words)

Actually, it's the other way around. It's called les amis de l'ABC which sounds like abaises (which means poor 또는 outcasr)

in fact the café where they hung out at was called that because of the les amis, the café was called La Musain:)
