Is Brown-eyed Girls an 'idol' group 또는 not?

A lot of people say that they're too old to be an idol group, and some say they're too good to be one.
I agree with the latter but what are they really?

it's not just the age though, people think that BEG is different from other idol groups. They're 더 많이 like actual singers than idols.
