James Bond Casino Royale

I don't know much about the different Bond movies but I LOVED Casino Royale and I've already seen it twice.
My Dad loves James Bond and he thinks Daniel Craig seems to have a bit of everyone in them and thought it was brilliant movie. Anyone else agree?

Oh yeah, totally agree. I sorta liked some of the previous Bond films. But Casino Royale was darker and way edgier. There was some serious raw brutality in some of the action scenes (the opening was amazing).

I loved it.

Skip the suave sophisticated stuff. This is the 21st century. We like the rough-hewn action heroes, flaws and all.

If this is the new direction for the franchise, count me a fan.

It's kinda like Bond-Begins (as in "Batman Begins")... A little darker, twisted hero sort of thing.

The thing that most bothered me about the movie (besides the absence of Q or any gadgets) was Craig's eyes. They couldn't really be THAT blue, can they?

I liked Casino Royale and though I was a bit skeptical of Daniel Craig (I thought he was too blonde, in my head all James Bonds' should look like Sean Connery!) but he was really great! I agree with Nav tho, there was an awful lack of gadgets which is one of the best thing about Bonds in my opinion, but all in all I thought it was a great movie, very different from the other Bonds but it worked well!

Thankyou Nav, exactly how I felt. It was definately darker, more brutal, maybe gratuitous violence....but still very good. However, this lack of any of the old regulars, Q, Moneypenny...NO EXCUSE!!!!

meh
Daniel Craig has an arresting looks, the kind that distinguished him from other Jame's Bond actors. I like the way he carry himself especially when he's wearing a link. Anyway, about the latest james' bond movie...I didn't like it much. He was too brutal and cold.

I didn't either. It was one of those movies that didn't seem complete even though there was heaps of action. I just remember thinking - is that it?

James Bond is a cold and brutal character. He was like this in DR. NO", "GOLDFINGER", "LIVE AND LET DIE", "THE MAN WITH THE GOLDEN GUN", "FOR YOUR EYES ONLY", "LICENSE TO KILL" and "THE WORLD IS NOT ENOUGH".
