1.Introduce yourself
Hi! I'm Missy! I'm 23 and I am from little old New Zealand at the
bottom of this planet. I'm doing my thesis at 대학 at the
moment, so yes, that makes me a total nerd. And proud of it! I love
House and anything even slightly linked to House. I also like other
things, but who cares! Lets talk about HOUSE!
2.Tell us something bout your 팬팝 experience
Well, I have been here since 2007 and have LOVED 99.9% of my time
here. I have really enjoyed talking with people who are as crazy about
House (among other things!) as I am. This is such a great place to
share how much we 사랑 stuff and I am so glad I found 팬팝 as an
outlet for my fangirlishness.
3.Your 가장 좋아하는 FanPop spot
House MD Spot without a doubt.
4.Give a shout out for one spot 당신 really like but isn't highly
visited 의해 House MD fans
The Foreteen Spot doesn't get enough love. We have 더 많이 than 400 fans
over there now, but only 3-4 people are actually active in the spot.
Although that happens in a number of House-related spots and all of
them are also deserving of a shout out.
5.Why and when did 당신 start watching House?
I had always wanted to watch House (BIG Hugh Laurie fan, and the
promos always looked epic!), but when season one first aired in New
Zealand (many, many months after it aired in the USA!), it was on at
the same time as some other show that my parents wanted to watch, so
my brother and I were over-ruled. Eventually, the tv schedule changed
and we could watch House! So the very first episdoe that I saw was the
season two episode 'Who's Your Daddy?'. Have been absolutely HOOKED
ever since.
6.Your 가장 좋아하는 episode (one from each season and one overall)
Favourite episode. The impossible question! From season one, probably
'Histories' because we learn a lot about Foreman and Wilson. From
season two, probably 'The Mistake', purely because they changed up the
format a little bit, plus it was a great look at a number of the
relationships on the show. From season three, 'Lines In The Sand' or
'Half-Wit', because they are both just awesome. From season four,
probably 'House's Head', for it's epic-ness, but I really loved a
number of episodes from season four because I loved the story arc of
House picking a new team! From season five, 'Unfaithful' is my
favourite episode because I loved the complexity of the patient of the
week. From season six, and I have only seen up to episode nine, but I
would say that 'Wilson' is probably my favourite so far. Epic episode!
One 사무용 겉옷, 전반적인 episode as my favourite? I could never pick. I know that
is a lame aswer, but I can give 당신 analysis of my every episode is my
favourite episode ever. I always look at the show as a whole and I
feel that each episode is dependent on the last episode and the ones
that will come after it. I find it so hard to single episodes out!
7.Your 가장 좋아하는 character, and why are 당신 drawn to him/her
House, of course. I think most of us watch the show for that
character. I 사랑 him because he isn't concerned with the social
contract and yet he almost always does the right thing, 또는 at least a
version of the right thing. I 사랑 his sarcasm. I guess I am drawn to
him because he is so complex and he really struggles with his own
complexity.
8.Favorite House MD quote
It is my 모토 on my profile: "I am both amused and annoyed that you
think I should be less stubborn than 당신 are." This quote sums up my
entire worldview.
9.We all know that underneath House's cold exterior is a beating
heart, but when do 당신 think House let his guard off almost
completely, giving us an insight of just how human he really is?
When he is with Wilson. I think he is as true to himself as he will
ever be when he is with Wilson. But also, and hardcore Huddy 팬 have
disagreed with me in the past, the moment in 'Let Them Eat Cake', when
House grabs Cuddy's breast, THAT moment, to me, was when he was the
most real with her. That was him saying "Hey Cuddy, I like 당신 and I
want to take this further." And I firmly believe that Cuddy ruined
that moment 의해 expecting some other romantic gesture that a "normal"
guy might do. That momen was House revealing his feelings to her the
best way he knew how. I don't think that there are any other
House/Cuddy moments when House is 100% upfront with her.
10.Who do 당신 think House has learned the most from?
I think probably Cameron, in a weird way. Like, when Thirteen
confronted him about doing the Huntington's test, the old House would
have opened the letter to see the results, like he had done with
Cameron's blood test. I think he learned from that experience that he
causes other people harm when he does that kind of thing. That is just
one example, but I really do think that from that, House has been more
willing to accept that his behaviour has consequences for other
people. That now means that he has been 더 많이 willing to accept help
and admit his faults.
11.What do 당신 think House has learned the most from?
Kutner's death. I agree that House and Kutner were very, very much
alike. My theory is that Kutner was like an inverted version of House.
That is, the meloncholoy that House openly displays, is the way that
Kutner felt on the inside. And I think that House realised the
similarities between him and Kutner and therefore was deeply, deeply
disturbed 의해 Kutner's suicide. Again, I think Kutner's death was a
sign to House that he needs to use the support that he has around him
and that it isn't weak to ask for help and let yourself be helped.
12.Who do 당신 think House hurt the most?
Ooooooooo probably Wilson, because he really takes him for granted.
And as we saw in season five, House really needs Wilson around. There
have been so many times when House has put Wilson is terrible,
terrible positions.
13.Who do 당신 think has learned the most from House?
Maybe Chase. In the begining, he would 키스 the asses of people like
Vogler and Cuddy, but now he seems to have realised that 당신 don't
need to do that, and that it is important to stand up for what you
believe in. I think House helped teach him that while the little
details are important, 당신 must also look at the bigger picture (case
in point, the season 6 episode 'The Tyrant').
14.Who do 당신 think know House the best?
Wilson. Wilson can trick House. Wilson knows what House is gonna do
before House does. Wilson makes an effort to understand House and to
help House. They are totally best 프렌즈 forever.
15.Which character do 당신 think has sacrificed the most because of House?
Cuddy puts her job on the line every time she talks to House. But I
think Wilson has sacrificed relationships with other people, even
though I don't think that really concerns him a hell of a lot. I mean,
he is obviously very upset about Amber's death, but I think with the
end of his marriages he was ok about it because he still had House and
he always knows that House will always need him. So, yeah, I think
probably Cuddy has sacfriced a little 더 많이 for House than Wilson has,
but they sacfrifice different things I guess. That is a tough
question.
16.Explain what do 당신 think Stacy,Lydia and Cuddy meant to/mean to
House and how each of them has shaped him as a person.
In my view, Stacy is THE ONE for House. He pined (and probably still
pines) for her. I think he has idealised her. He wants what he had
with her and if a relationship doesn't meet that standard then it is a
waste of time. And of course no relationship will ever meet his
expectations.
Lydia is probably the best thing that has happened to House in a long
time, and before anyone rips of my head and eats my brains, let me
explain my position. House's relationship with Lydia was necessary to
show House that he could trust someone, that he could be vulnerable
and people would still support him and that he could get hurt by
someone and still be ok at the end of the day. His relationship with
Lydia let him feel strong emotions for someone and demonstrated that
it was ok to allow yourself to feel those emotions. So I'm not sure
that Lydia as a person actually means a lot to House, but I think the
IDEA of Lydia is very, very important to him.
As for Cuddy, I reckon she is what House is most afraid of. I think he
would like for her to be the 다음 Stacy, but because of his
idealisation of his relationship with Stacy, he can't bring himself to
take that 다음 step (which is why the Lydia relationship is so
important!). I think Cuddy really made an impact on House back when
they first met and so he has always had her in his brain and they both
know that there is chemistry, it is just a matter of getting the
chemistry exactly right. I think since House was able to open up and
be hurt 의해 Lydia, and yet 옮기기 on, he mat now be better equiped
emotionally to be in a relationship with Cuddy.
17.Do 당신 agree with Wilson when it comes to House owing Cuddy and him
an apology?
Yes and no. House isn't the best at saying sorry. I think if he can
genuinely apologise, then perhaps he should. But House's apologies
have always been in his actions, rather than his words.
18.Do 당신 think House is right when it comes to his 'People don't
change' policy?
There is a line from the tv show Lie To Me (great show, watch it!)
that says something like people can change, it is just phenomenally
rare. I think that is true. And I think we can change in little ways,
but not usually in big, dramatic ways. Don't think its as black and
white as House would like to believe.
19.Do 당신 think House will be able to stay off Vicodin for good, and
if not what do 당신 think would make him start using it again?
Oh man, I have been thinking about this and I just don't know. I think
that if anything were to ever happen to Wilson, House would go right
off the rails. But I really don't know how this No-Vicodin story arc
is gonna play out. I don't think the show misses anything 의해 not
having him on the drug. So I think they can stick with the drug-free
House and the show will be fine.
20.Moments:
-Favorite House/Wilson moment
The Wilson on speed conversation. There are so many brilliant moments
though. I have to mention the episode 'Wilson' when House stays by
Wilson the whole time. So sweet.
-Saddest moment
During the funeral montage in 'Simple Explanation', when Taub is
sitting on the bench and starts crying. I cry EVERY TIME I see that
scene. That whole end of the episode is just so, so sad.
-Least expected moment
Um... Probably the whole Kutner suicide thing. I mean, I had read
spoliers so I knew someone was gonna die and I was pretty sure it was
Kutner. But suddenness of Thirteen and Foreman finding him that early
in the episode still kinda caught me 의해 surprise. I know that if I
hadn't have read the spoilers I probably would have fainted.
-WTF? Moment
When Amber is revealed as Wilson's girlfriend. At that point, I didn't
like Amber (I really didn't like her as a possible fellow, but loved
her as Wilson's girlfriend), and I remember actually saying "What the
fuck?!".
-your fave moment of all time
Oh lordy, THAT is IMPOSSIBLE. I can give 당신 my most fangirly moment,
which was when Foreman and Thirteen kissed for the first time in 'Joy
To The World'.
21.Who do 당신 think is the most underrated character and why do you
feel that way?
Foreman! In general, people seem to think that Foreman is boring and
lame, but I think he is awesome! He is hilarious! And I think the fact
that he is so restrained and "boring" is so interesting, because he
clearly wasn't that way when he was younger. I want to know if he is
genuinely a pretty restrained guy now, 또는 if he still wants to just go
crazy but feels like he can't because he could get in trouble. I
really 사랑 him and I think he needs 더 많이 사랑 from the fans.
22.Who do 당신 think is the most overrated character?
Hmmmm... I'm such a hippy coz I 사랑 all the characters... I guess
Olivia Wilde draws a lot of attention to the role of Thirteen, so I
think it seem like Thirteen is overrated, when really it is 더 많이 than
people are interested in a hot girl playing a bisexual. I don't think
her character is overrated, 또는 that she as an actress is overrated,
but I think the excitement at her presence on the show is overrated
and detracts from her performance.
23.Who do 당신 think is the most underrated actor/actress on the show?
(when it comes to both critics and fans)
In terms of critics, Robert Sean Leonard as Wilson. He is fucking
BRILLIANT and never gets any recognition for from critics. Same with
Lisa Edelstein and to some extent Hugh Laurie, because he is often
unlucky when it comes to award shows.
In terms of the fans, poor old Michael Weston as Lucas. Lots of fans
haven't liked him right from the start and I don't really understand
why. I think he is fantastic in the role.
I guess the only character that doesn't get a hell of a lot of support
from both critics and 팬 is Peter Jacobson as Taub. But I 사랑 him,
and I think the 팬 have started responding 더 많이 positively to him
lately.
24.We know you're a multishipper, but most of the 팬 doesn't
understand how can one person ship so many ships at a time. Could you
explain how it works for you?
Ha ha ha. Yes, I am a freak in that. My take on relationships in the
show is that they all feed into each other and they all depend on each
other. They all have to work together in some way. It really is as
simple as the fact that I like all the characters and like all the
interactions that those characters have with one another. I like the
interactions between House and Cuddy just as much as I like the
interactions between House and Cameron. I just do. I can see the good
in both of those relationships and if either of them happened, I would
be a happy camper.
To put it another way, I can appreciate the complexities of the
relationships. Like, the whole Lucas/Cuddy//House/Lydia thing is a
perfect example: House goes away to get better, meets Lydia who
teaches him how to feel again. Meanwhile, Cuddy hooks up with Lucas
for some comfort, 사랑 and support during a difficult time (being a
single mother, running a hospital, issues with House). In order for
House and Cuddy to hook up, House needs to get better emotionally and
Cuddy needs know what she wants and needs from a relationship.
Therefore, in order for Huddy to happen, Luddy needs to happen and
House/Lydia needs to happen. For me, it doesn't have to play out that
way. Lucas and Cuddy could be together forever 또는 break up tomorrow. I
am 더 많이 interested in the relationships as interactions between
people, not necessarily as definitive romantic relationships.
25. From all the ships 당신 like, which is your 가장 좋아하는 and why?
Foreteen (Foreman/Thirteen). This is the only ship that I really,
REALLY want/need to happen. I mean, if they don't get back together,
so be it. I can live with what I have. But I would really prefer them
together (I hope 당신 are 읽기 this House producers!). I have
extensive reasons as to why they are the greatest ship of all time,
which 당신 can read pretty much in every nook and cranny of the
Foreteen spot. But to summarise: 1) I knew they would hook up after
their MRI room interaction in 'Don't Ever Change' in season four. 2)
Foreman wants to vicariously cure his mother 의해 helping to find a cure
for Thirteen's Huntingtons. 3) Thirteen can help Foreman find a
balance between living a sensible life and letting loose. And 4) They
are both hot. I have plenty 더 많이 extensive Foreteen theories, but if I
get into them we will be here for years.
26.You're probably one of a few genuine Luddy fans- tell us what you
see in it and why you're drawn to it so much
Firstly, I'm a big 팬 of Lucas. 사랑 him. Loved his cute attempts to
woo Cuddy in season five. Secondly, I really like seeing Cuddy
thriving in a relationship. She is happy with him and he is good for
her child and for her. Thirdly, like I said before, the Luddy
relationship can open doors for Huddy, 또는 it can continue on in its
own right. So either way, the show can 옮기기 foreward. Lastly, I,
again, just 사랑 the way they are together. There is a playfulness
about their relationship that I think offers Cuddy some stress relief.
Cuddy can depend on him and he really wants to take care of her, help
her out and make her and her child happy.
27.I have my own theory when it comes to ship bashers, but what is
yours? Why do they do that and do they have any right to do so
I think each basher has their own unique reasons for bashing. Some are
just negative people who prefer to talk about what they hate rather
than what they love. Some are genuinely angry they their own
viewpoints aren't being played out on the show and so they want to
exert some control. Some people just don't respect other people and
believe that they can say what they want, when they want. I guess at
the end of the day, people have the right to express their opinions,
even if they abusive. I don't think it is right though. I think that
there are ways of espressing negative opinions without being an
asshole about it.
My main issue is that if people want the right to bash, then they
absolutely have to accept it when people bash something they love. If
당신 shit on people, 당신 have to be prepared to be shat on too.
Ideally, no one would shit on anybody, but the world ain't ideal.
28.I just have to ask this ;) Where do 당신 see Huddy going ?
I think they will probably end up at least sleeping together (for real
this time) sometime this season 또는 다음 season. I don't ever see them
in an actual romantic relationship. I think they would lose the
tabooness that their relationship has which makes it exciting. I don't
think a romantic Huddy relationship would be bad, but it would be
different from what we have at the moment, and I like what has been
going on over the past six seasons.
29. It's time for Hilly to be mean: Huddy vs. Luddy (choose wisely ;P )
Ha! Well, I can say either and not lose any sleep about it. I'll pick
Huddy, because of the history between them.
30. Wilson vs. 5 to 9 (which did 당신 like the 더 많이 and why)
Haven't actually been able to see 5 To 9 yet, so definitly Wilson.
Wilson is one of my favourite episodes so far so I think it is a safe
choice.
31.Cameron vs. Thirteen
Thirteen. 사랑 her just a little bit 더 많이 than Cameron.
32.What do 당신 think of season 6 so far?
Loving it. Worried about Foreteen though...
33.How do 당신 see season 6 ending?
With a Foreteen baby. No, I'm just wishful thinking there. I don't
know. I don't think that it will super-dramatic, because seasons four
and five were a rollercoaster, so I think season six will just chug
along nicely. I think some other characters (Cuddy, Foreman, Taub etc)
may get some bigger storylines, because House and Wilson have had a
lot happen to them lately. But I could be wrong.
34.What would 당신 like to see happen in season 6 that 당신 think isn't
possible at all?
LOL! A Foreteen baby! That will only happen in my dreams.
35.How did 당신 feel about Cameron's/JMorrison's departure?
ARGH! I loved her final scene with House, because that was simply
beautifully done. But I didn't want her to go. I 사랑 Cameron and
Jennifer Morrison and I think that there was so much 더 많이 to know
about her, so, yeah, I was upset that she left, but it is out of my
control. 당신 have to get over those kinds of things.
36.Do 당신 think Cameron stopped loving Chase because of the Dibala or
because of something else? (and when I say she stopped loving him, I
mean that because she said 'I loved Chase' to House)
Good question. I think maybe she had been looking for an excuse
actually. I mean, she wasn't exactly the most willing bride in the
begining. I think I have always felt that Cameron was never into the
relationship as much as Chase was and I do (as a Hameron shipper as
well, of course) think that that had a lot to do with House, as much
as Cameron denied it. But, yeah, I think perhaps Cameron never really
felt right in that marriage and so used the Dibala thing as an excuse.
Which sucks because I 사랑 Chameron and I 사랑 Chase when he is with
Cameron.
37.When it comes to the Dibala case, what would 당신 have done if a
life of someone evil like him was in your hands. Would 당신 kill him to
surely save many people 또는 would 당신 do your job and try to cure him?
It is so hard to explore these kinds of issues. I think Chase did the
right thing, and I would like to think that I would also have done
what Chase did. In the end, I do think that taking that one life to
save the lives of many others is the right call. But obviously, no one
has the right to decide that, even if we think it is justified. I
guess I would support what Chase did, but if I were to encounter this
situation in real life, it seems wrong to say "Yes, I would kill him",
even though 당신 know that killing him will save the lives of heaps of
other people. And the personal cost to Chase has also been steep.
So what the heck is my answer? LOL! I dunno, I would probably have
done what Chase did, but I'm probably too chicken. Good thing I'm not
a doctor treating dictators.
38.What do 당신 think of Wilson/Cuddy/House trio?
사랑 them. I like the notion that Wilson and Cuddy are like House's
parents, trying to raise him to be a good and productive human being.
39.Why do 당신 think 팬 like Cameron the least?
Do they? I guess maybe they do. I think 팬 don't like Foreman or
Taub either, but I have heard people talk about them as boring,
whereas Cameron haters can be pretty vicious.
Not to start a ship war, but I think a lot of it has to do with the
popularity of the House/Cuddy relationship, and Cameron was seen as an
intrusion into that relationship.
Personally, I have always been annoyed that Cameron was never as into
Chase as he was into her. I think he leaving because of the Dibala
thing was really shitty, especially since she was the first one to
have the "Lets kill Dibala" thought. So I think perhaps those are two
reasons why people don't seem to like Cameron. I have also heard
people say that she gets on her high-horse to much, but I dunno, I
always thought that that was the point of her character, but I guess
people find that annoying.
40.Which character, in your opinion, has grown the most from season 1?
Probably Cameron. She is a little 더 많이 streetwise and a little harder
to push around now.
41.Which 오리 쌔끼, 새끼 오리, 오리 새끼 do 당신 like the best and why?
Oh man, I can't choose. Probably Thirteen 또는 Kutner. 또는 Taub. Or
Foreman. 또는 Chase 또는 Cameron.
42.Which patient's story made 당신 sit down and think about life on a
whole different level than 당신 were before 당신 were faced with his/her
story?
I think Daniel, the preist in 'Unfaithful'. As an Atheist, I was very
much taking the same point of view as House was, so it was really cool
to see this interaction between House as an Atheist and Daniel as
pretty much a non-believing Preist. It was cool to be part of that
conversation. In pretty much every case, I own views are in line with
House's, so in episodes when the patient really challenges House, I
always feel pretty close to the story, and I think 'Unfaithful' was
the best example of that.
43.Which side of the show don't 당신 like and why?
Lame answer, but I like it all. I like the medical stuff and the
relationship stuff. Its all good.
44.If 당신 could change anything on the show would 당신 and what would it be?
Right now, 더 많이 clinic time. Some of the most hilarious things ever
have happened in that clinic, but they haven't really had time for it
lately. I would 사랑 to see 더 많이 of the clinic, at least in the
future.
45.If 당신 had a power to bring anyone back on the show who would it
be: Amber/Cameron/Kutner/Stacy (even if it was for a short period of
time)
Kutner. I want him back now. I mean, I 사랑 the way they did the story
after his death and it has led to brilliant episodes since. But I
selfishly want Kal Penn back on my TV screen every week.
46.If 당신 were to be a part of the show, and 의해 당신 I mean as a
character not as an actor/producer, how do 당신 think 당신 would fit in
and what do 당신 think House would think of you?
Hmmmmmm... The thing is, I am just like House in my sense of humor and
sarcasm and ethics and morals and stuff like that. So I would like to
think that he would like me (and perhaps want to sleep with me... just
throwing it out there).
47.What would surely make 당신 stop watching the show?
Killing off House. They kill House, they could probably get one 또는 two
shows out of watching how the characters mourn him. But otherwise the
show isn't 'House MD' anymore.
I would also be very, very put off if they did the whole "Surprise!
당신 have a long 로스트 son/daughter!" story arc that was rumoured to be
happening for a while. THAT wouls be a terrible storyline. I would
watch it, to give it a chance, but I don't see any good coming out of
that storyline.
48.What did 당신 learn from the show?
Lots of big long words that make me feel smart that I know them, but
dumb when I try to say them.
49.Which info 당신 learned from the show can come in handy from time to time?
As a psychology student, there is a actually a lot of stuff about
brain and body function that actually came in very handy when I was
trying to prepare for tests and assignments. But what really come in
handy are 인용구 about ethics and human behaviour and stuff like that.
There is nothing better than pulling out a House quote in order to win
a debate.
50.Tell us something for the end:
I 사랑 House and I 사랑 this spot and I 사랑 the people who frequent
this spot. We all have to deal with lots of stresses in our real
lives, but it is always so awesome to come here and party with my
House peps! Y'all are awesome!
