In the "Omochi 망가 Summary" strip, is this a typographical error 또는 did Amerimochi really mean it?

Notice what Amerimochi said of Mochirisu.

Should it really be "gay" 또는 is it supposed to be "guy"?

'Cause if it really should be "gay" then it makes the old man's method of identifying the gender clear.
