I just wondered...I'm not sure if she dies in the book too, there's just some sentence where she gets mentiones lying lifeless on the floor but you never find out if she's dead or just injured

She doesn't die in the book - she's saved in extremis from Greyback by Hermione.

I felt sad for Lavender as 1) she had looked particularly keen on defending the school (maybe she was a member of the DA by then ?) and 2) she must have known a violent death at the hands of someone like Greyback (we all know how ruthless he is).

I don't like her but she didn't deserve to die. She fought bravely and she's so young.

Actually her death in the movies was one of the biggest shocks to me. I love the fact that Hermione saved her though, showing to us that she is mature enough to forget about the childish jealousy that happened the year before between Ron.
