All I can really say is that they are completely different than the movies. You'd have to read them yourself to find out, but there are many differences, and the 영화 could never even compare to the 책 :)
read. the. books. !!! they are so amazing and so much better then the movies! which is saying a lot cause the 영화 are AMAZING. but the 책 are like, 'whoa!!!UN-BEIVEABLE!' they are just GREAT, words cant explain. :)
당신 want ten years of 읽기 a saga to be explained?! Don't 당신 have any idea the moments and details you're gonna miss? Just read the books, it's a lot to explain. And 의해 the way I just wanna say I wouldn't get mad if I didn't get the answer that explains it all... Just read the books, they're awesome, fun. You'll get so into the story you'll finish them in no time...

it took me two weeks to read the 초 book, it doesn't pull me in like other 책 :(
Then I guess 당신 could see the movies, I guess. It's going to be hard to find someone who can explain... But if 당신 don't like the 영화 또는 find them boring 또는 something else makes 당신 not want to see the movies, then Harry Potter is just not for you...
