I think its fairly even, but Harry Potter is still winning. The only reason Twilight got this close though is because there are so many stupid adolescent girls obsessed with edward. That is to say, if HP and Hannah Montana were to have a fandom war, it would also be quite even because Hannah Montana has such a huge following.

in general, more people have heard of or have seen hp films becsuse hp has a more broader target audience, i think there is nothing more pathetic than 30 year old women dreaming about edward cullen

I think maybe the Twilight fanbase is already dying out. I'm coming across so many people who are sick of how crazy fans are about it. Once all the movies are out I bet people will be well and truly over it.
Oh and just adding to nati's comment - that's what everything does over time. You wait, summerfrog it won't be long for Twilight. AND it simply means Harry Potter will become a classic.

I think Twilight is winning only because of how popular it is with the tweenage population. Harry Potter SHOULD, but it's not.

I typed in why Harry Potter is better than Twilight on YouTube. It came up with all these great videos.

I also typed in why Twilight is better than Harry Potter. I saw why Harry Potter is better than Twilight videos, and a few why Twilight sucks videos. I only saw one why Twilight is better than Harry Potter video. There was only 5 reasons and it went something like this:

1. It is easier to relate to
2. It's a romance novel
3. The books are shorter
4. It has love
5. The movies are shorter


Those may not be the exact reasons on the video, but they are close.
