Flaws

RonGetYourWand It's also the fact we are told Bella is mature for her age and smart but it is never shown.

cassie-1-2-3 She's mature is some ways, immature in others. I think she's pretty mature when it comes to running a household.

cunha27 She shows her maturity by moving to Forks to allow her mun and and her husband to travel for his job. Bella is mature for a teenager. It doesn't stop her from being a teenager. Hermione is described as a know it all who follows the rules, yet she doesn't know everything (the philosopher's stone isn't that obscure a bit of information - almost a bit of common trivia) and she frequently breaks the rules.

RonGetYourWand In my opinion, she isn't mature at all. Moving is a nice thing to do, but it doesn't show she is mature. It just seems strange that she is portrayed as more of a mature person when she's as immature as Mike or any other teenager in the story. And Hermione, even if she is portrayed as a know-it- all rule lover, changes through time. The term 'know-it-all' is used to describe her in class, as a sort of trait. Not saying she really knows everything. She also learns that she must break the rules at times, just because she normally follows them out of respect doesn't mean she doesn't break them if need be (take OotP for example).

cunha27 Moving showed she wasn't selfish, that she put other people's needs above her - that is a show of maturity. Her general behaviour compared to Mike also showed maturity. As immediate as the attraction she had to Edward was, she wasn't running around pestering him.  Hermione might change through time ( a statement I disagree with as she appears to break the rules right from the 1st book) but her depiction through the books stays the same, ie she's always referred to as a stickler for the rules. And she breaks the rules more often than just strictly out of necessity.  Often times she and her friends do it simply to try to either confirm their suspicions or because they don't like someone.

RonGetYourWand I think she is potryed more a 'rule-lover' (which you could disagree with) not exactly a stickler for the rules. She does break rules when she thinks there could be danger to her friends or in an atempt to protect her friends. I think she respects the rules because she repects some of her teachers, but she also understands that circumstances can change and rules need to be broken at times. In that way, I think she always wants to follow the rules, because she respects them, but she can't because of her circumstances. Also, Bella living with her mom wasn't a need. She could live with her father easily.
