So, 당신 like Harry Potter? What about Twilight?
I've read (and watched) them both.
When I was twelve I picked up a paper back cover of "Twilight" at the airport for something to read on my plane ride home. I did become quite infatuated with the series, tearing through the second, third and fourth books. I went on this 팬 club on my old account (which I have long since abandoned) and talked trash about Harry Potter, and talked about how wonderful Twilight was. I talked about Twilight like it was my Bible, and mocked Harry Potter (which I knew 다음 to nothing about). However, when I was thirteen, I picked up Harry Potter and the Philosopher's stone, just to see what all of the fuss was about. I immediately fell in 사랑 with the series, staying up all hours of the night just to find out what would happen next. I began to realize how flat and shapeless the storyline of the Twilight Saga really was. It amazed me, time and time again how much foreshadowing was spread through out the whole Harry Potter series, and how predictable Twilight was. I saw the depth in every aspect of Harry Potter, aspects that Twilight lacked. My Twihard phase was snuffed out after 읽기 book one of Harry Potter (BELIEVE ME. I was a Twilight addict, the kind they make fun of on "Vampires Suck") and I can say that I won't ever reach for the black and red volumes of Twilight again.

cassie-1-2-3 Perhaps it's a useful antidote if you find your "addiction" a problem. Though trading one "addiction" for another has never really worked out for anyone. If you're trying to give advice, I have to say this won't work for everyone, and not everyone needs to be cured. If you're simply sharing your personal experience, I'm glad you've found something you love.

11Anime_Fool I used the term "addict" in an attempt to not offend anyone by calling them a "Twihard." That's all. I really like Harry Potter, so if I mentioned being "addicted" to Harry Potter, I will go back and fix it. I'm simply trying to say that after reading the Harry Potter series it is very difficult for me to appreciate a story that's as flat lined as Twilight. and yes, I am partially sharing personal experience, I have found a series I can be *healthily* in love with.

Sandfire_Paiger Its true! I was on the Twilight side very strongly. Then I read Harry Potter... I still HIGHLY respect Twilight though!

emilyroxx My parents had to take away my Twilight books because they said that I was getting too obsessed with them. I'm not ALMOST as obsessed with HP as I was with Twilight and my parents encourage it. Twilight, they said, caused me to 'freak out' as they put it. During my Twilight-obsessed phase, I would talk about nothing else but Twilight, and if someone bad-mouthed it, I would ATTACK them. Trust me, they might both be obsessions, but Twilight is 100x more unhealthy an obsession than Harry Potter, Cassie.

cassie-1-2-3 I doubt it. That just sounds like your personal was of dealing with things isn't very great.

wotcher-tonks I had an un-healthy obsession too...Used to bad-mouth Harry Potter an everything! I got pissed, and I mean PISSED when I heard Vampires Suck came out. My brothers would make fun of me when I read Twilight and I would start attacking them. Harry was MY cure too. I stopped liking Twilight the instant I read the first word of Harry Potter. Now, I understand that some people don't like what I do. Now I gotz me a healthy obsession ;) I'm getting rid of my Twilight books now, I'm sort of ashamed to have them on my shelf. (Personal reasons, memories of being such a psycho fan.)

youknowit101 That sounds like growing up instead of being cured by books for all of you. It looks like this only happens to kids who read Twilight when they're young, then read harry Potter when they're older. The main factor is that you're older and you're better at coping with excitement.

wotcher-tonks ^Errr...I'm only 13...I still can't sit still in school, I definitely can't cope with excitement...

youknowit101 At your age you are learning how to cope with excitement. If you still get pissed when somebody doesn't like Harry Potter, then I'll agree that you haven't matured. That's a question you'll have to answer for yourself.

zanhar1 I hear you anime_fool I've been there. I was a twilight fan when I was 13 and used to hate Harry Potter that changed when my friend dragged me to see OotP and I saw Bellatrix that's when I decided to give the books another chance. I loved them. But I still didnt dislike twilight then, I started disliking it when everything became about it. All the "hey isn't twilight awesome" twilight this twilight that got annoying. It became so popular that they made twilight underpants! That's what did it for me lol.

lostandhp4ever I think it´s great when people read both of them. Because I hate it when someone says Twilight sucks and never reads Twilight and doesn´t even know why Twilight sucks. Or when someone says that Harry Potter sucks and never reads HP and doesn´t really know Harry Potter. So I think it´s great that you read both books to make your own opinion. And yeah you are right Harry Potter is much better ;-)

It has a PLOT! It has Subplots.It has several characters with depth.JK is not afraid to sacrifice the good guys. The characters aren't one dementional. JK researches her material, has good use of Latin and history within her books. Spells are named after Latin words and do what the Latin words do. Names of soem characters give hints as to what that character is such as Sirius which means Dog 별, 스타 for 더 많이 Albus which means White (pure wizard). 당신 can relate Harry Potter to WWII because of similarities 당신 could learn some history from the books.
Harry Potter teaches a good deal about prejudice...

Okay this is 더 많이 of an opinion, since my view of the activity is based off opinion.

Now whenever someone posts something on the internet and someone else responds negatively to it, they respond in the same way to that person. In a very negative tone. This is in fact what I see at times in forums.

First Twilight and Harry Potter fans, if 당신 post anything on the internet, whether they are opinions 또는 facts, 당신 have responsibilities with it. 당신 are exposing yourself to others in the internet. 당신 are responsible for the positive 또는 negative replies. So don't blame others for your actions....

I have actually read both series and liked Twilight okay, but Harry Potter rules for me!

First, the so often brought up topic... love, 또는 lack thereof. Harry Potter consists of all sorts of love: family, parental, romantic, friend. Twilight consists of pure lust. Now for the evidence! Mrs. Molly Weasley killed Bellatrix Lestrange because Bellatrix nearly killed Ginny, her only daughter. The Weasleys all look out for each other, and even Percy apologized in the seventh book. They joined together in dark times, happy ones, sad ones, and when 프레드 died. 당신 might say the Cullens show family love....

I'm going to start doing 기사 like this because I think it's fun and I just wanna see who thinks one character is better than the other.

Before 당신 guys start, let me tell 당신 my opinion. I think that Bellatrix is the better villan because she's mean, crazy and cruel but also happens to have good fighting skills, even though I hate her for hurting Hermione. She's also not afraid [potterheads correct me if i'm wrong] to kill others. She pretty much has the ultimate personality and guts that Villaness's have.

Those are my opinions. Now... feel free to add yours!! Enjoy:)
