This is a tough one; He'd haven a unfair advantage over other Marine recruits if he re-inlisted, and assuming he'd have feelings for another spartan, (I've never gotten into the books so I'm not sure if he likes any of the female Spartans), he'd probably hate himself for a while.

TheSpartan-IVs view him with distaste and pity, ONI views him and the other remaining Spartan-IIs as outdated military hardware, Marines view the Spartan-IIs as an "honest-to-buddha one man death squad", while Human civilians view him as a titan that will save them from the Covenant but may destroy their neighborhood in the process. And Didn't he also have a FWB thing with Kelly-087 too?
