글리 Did anyone else think that when Shelby came to the hospital, that she would try to talk Quinn into keeping Beth?

Sorry for lack of icons, they won't upload.

But this just really annoyed me. I know that I said that the adoption was a good solution and would satisfy most of the fans, but it also PISSED ME OFF. I mean, yay! She has a family, but what about RACHEL?!?

She's always moaning and complaining on how she missed out with Rachel.

I'm sorry, but is Rachel buried underground in a casket? Is she dead? NO. Like someone else once said, "motherhood is a lifetime thing".

Shelby was always complaining on how she missed out on being a mommy and how she always regretted it-when she went there, I thought that she would come to Quinn to talk her out of doing the same thing & regretting that for the rest of her life...

I'm happy that Shelby got a baby and all, but it just greatly pissed me off, and I thought that she would try to talk Quinn into keeping Beth & talk about how she missed out on her chance,it pissed me off a bit because she's all too willing to adopt Beth but after a day or two is not even willing to work it out with her own daughter (and I'm not even a Rachel fan).

But instead, she did to Quinn exactly what she was always complaining about. =/

She didn't belong there.. Quinn and Puck didn't know her at all and she just randomly showed up at the hospital. I mean come on Quinn was like why the hell are you here? She just seemed out of place.

True, to me it seemed so weird that even though she wanted a baby, that she would just randomly go there and adopt Beth. IMO, I'm happy for her, but the beginning of that conversation sounded like it was going, "I gave up my baby girl...." blah blah blah.

^Yea i also thought that that was a good possibility. I was hoping that there was gonna be a really sweet heart warming scene where Shelby is telling Quinn how much regret she has and how giving up Beth would be a mistake

Yeah, I personally think that would have been much sweeter & cuter.

*sighs* Well, at least we MIGHT get to see Quinn & Puck around the baby, and Beth won't completely disappear from the show.

I'm esp. curious why Puck let her adopt Beth, though. IMO, he really looked like he didn't want to give Beth up.

Yeah. This was like, the one thing I didn't like about the finale.
Puck would make a great father!

Well, they better show scenes of Quinn & Puck around the baby-maybe visiting her, Puck/Beth scenes-because Beth can't exactly disappear now, and also even though they gave her up, she's close by and that doesn't mean they can't visit her, right?

I hope they show some QP scenes with her. =/

I think that Shelby adopted Beth so Quinn and Puck could visit her because she told Rachel she regretted not seeing her grow up and she wasn't going to let that happen again.

Generally, I was sure that Shelby will adopt Beth since we've got to know that she can't have kids on her own anymore.

She wanted to fixed her past mistake, wanted real family and now she can be way better mother then she could have been 16 years ago & also definately better then Quinn can be now. Beth will be lucky to have Shelby as her mother.

And Rachel? What can we talk about? They can be friends, but let's not imagine they could ever develop a real mother-daugther bond. We all know the first three years of baby's life are the most important in it's develoment. Selby missed it. It's not giving birth what makes you mother. It's lack of sleep duriing the first months, tiredness, first words & smiles, fist figths, visits to a doctor, breakfest made everyday,, common shopping & cleaing. Shelby wasn't there for Rachel when she was growing up, had her first problems & successes. You just can't fix it.
And what's about Rachel? She should go home to her dads and tell something like "I'm very happy you were my beloved family for 16 years, but now screw yourself, I'm going to live with my biological mom"? Of course she was missing mother in her life, but she has a loving family! Her fathers would probably be hurt & lost if she tried to get close with Shelby, not mentioning the legal problems. Is it worth it?
Because it's possible that they'd become close friends frinds, of course. But they'd never, absolutely never had the kind of relationship mothers & daughters who spend the whole life together have.
I'm sorry, but some decisions & mistakes are really unfixable. You can't turn back time. But you can start some things all over again, when you're ready & if you'll get a chance. That's what Shelby did. It was to late to come to Rachel's life & out of the blue "do the mommy thing" like nothing happed. She can keep in touch with her now, but not to try to raise her up.It wouldn't work. And would interfer with Rachel's true family life. But she can do it for Beth. That's good that she got that chance.

I know many expected more cute-sweet-fairytale-like storyline for PQ, Beth & Shelby, but according to me this one was very nice & also realistc & even very opitmistic.
That's why I love it :)

^ I'm not saying that Rachel would leave her family...who said that? You can still be a family and love each other if you don't live together. Just because they could form a mother/daughter bond does NOT mean that Rachel would leave her Fathers.
