‘Glee’ Series Finale: Spoilers for Rachel, Kurt, Mercedes | TVLine 

ks: There are only a few days left until the curtain comes down on the Fox series, in its two-hour finale (airing March 20, 8/7c).

The good news? TVLine at Friday night’s PaleyFest event got an early screening of the final episode’s first hour, and we’ve got 11 teasers to help prepare you for the show’s farewell.

‘s series ender will flash back in time — more specifically, to 2009, during the glee club’s humble beginnings — before jumping forward to reveal the futures of Rachel, Kurt and the gang.

But that’s enough chit-chat. Here are 11 tidbits from the finale’s first hour, which takes place entirely in the past:

3 | The mystery of Artie’s glee club audition song is finally solved.

4 | Mercedes quite literally takes it to church in her first solo of the episode.

5 | A character you wouldn’t expect to see anywhere near McKinley High School in 2009 makes a surprise appearance.

6 | Despite Cory Monteith’s absence, Finn’s inclusion in the glee club plays an important role in the finale’s first hour. (Grab your tissues for this one.)

7 | At least one glee club member gets an extra-large Slushie to the face.

8 | You haven’t seen the last of Sheets-N-Things — or the pregnancy-faking woman who works there.

9 | There are multiple well-timed references to MySpace and Blockbuster, both of which were somehow going strong just six years ago.

I imagine “Don’t Stop believing” or some Journey song will be sung that episode.

Mr Shue’s final song will be “Somewhere Over The Rainbow”. From 1st season finale.

In regards to #2, I am not surprised that they share a scene like without being enemies. In the very first episode, they were on very friendly terms until she found out he decided to coach the Glee club. She even brought him coffee in that episode. Only after she felt betrayed, or whatever, that he started coaching the Glee club, did she decide he was her nemesis.

I’m guessing Blaine will be the character making the surprise appearance.

Thought the same. Then ahain, this would be a suprise to exactly noone. I hope it’s someone REALLY surprising!

It would figure they’d find some way to shoehorn him into that episode.

They already spoiled at the Paley Fest that Blaine happens to walk past Kirk before they actual met.

There’s a joke somewhere in the Glee flashback about how the show might be able to cover songs from the years in between now and the time the episode is set in. It might be funny if they came up with a totally fictional song and credit it to a well-known artist or something like that.

9. I don’t think Blockbuster or MySpace were really going strong in 2009 as much as they were chugging along. (MySpace became irrelevant in 2007 and Blockbuster was just holding it together in 2009)

11. My only wish for the finale is that they don’t do “Don’t Stop Believing” it lost its magic by the fourth cover.

It’s Blaine. The original script did not include him (that’s when the episode was supposed to air after episode 8 “A Wedding” but then it got moved to be apart of the finale (which is in the future) so it was a better fit. They said only a few things were rewritten but the original writer is no longer credited (Ned Martel) and instead, Ryan, Ian, and Brad are credited for writing the episode. So my guess is, many things were changed in the episode.

11 I hope they do Don’t stop believing. it was such a big part of season 1 and Finn. He was the heart of the show and the initial central character.

Seriously going to miss Glee. One of my favourite shows and its going to be sad next Friday. :( Thanks for a wonderful 6 years cast and crew. Its been a rollercoaster of a ride.
