I've been trying prepare my salmon so that it doesn't taste so dry, but I always end up with it being so tasteless. How long should I marinate and what do you recommend?

make sure you don't overcook it! i've had good results in my toaster oven and also pan-frying. i don't really marinate since salmon has a strong taste already, so all it really needs is some salt, EVOO, and a twist of lemon. you can also grill it in a foil pouch (which effectively steams it). yum!

I agree, no need to marinate salmon. My favorite way of making salmon is to slather it with hoisin sauce and minced ginger, cover it with sesame seeds, and put it on a hot saute pan with a little oil. About 3-5 minutes per side, and you're done. The sesame crust holds in the juices pretty well.

I use the steaming method in a foil pouch too. Not just for salmon, but for many other types of fish. That'll eliminate your dry problem!

I caught my first salmon last week! :D I don't like eating it though so gave it to my mum, she wrapped it in foil and cooked it in the oven with only a little salt and pepper and said it was delicious :)

my mom usally puts lemon juice, dill and a sprinkle of seasoning salt on salmon and wraps it up in foil and steams it in our wok,and be sure not to over cook it so the juices stay in:)

marinating fish, in this case salmon, should only take a few minutes so as not to over power the fish.
