Now i'm what I would like to call an average guy. I also like to think that I'm open minded and willing to hear any argument as long as that argument is backed up with cold hard facts.
Now as a guy i personally don't have any experience of any of the issues normally expressed 의해 the feminist movement so my thoughts and opinions are always formed from 초 hand 또는 third hand experience (reading articles, watching YouTube 비디오 etc.)
Now i'm sure some of 당신 are asking yourself why are 당신 asking this? Well the answer is as follows.
Two week 이전 i was taking part in a community discussion at my local 도서관, 라이브러리 that was about 'Ways in which the government can help the community'
About half way throw the discussion I perhaps foolishly said something that I personally thought was an innocent and legitament statement. What I said was exactly what follows.
'I believe that since girls in education have either caught up 또는 began to out perform their male counterparts that the government needs to start shifting the percentage of funds designed to help girls in education, so instead it helps everyone in education since it is now in fact the boys who are starting to need that help.'
Immediately upon saying this I hear a disapproving tut from across the room and I see a woman looking at me like i just said something insulting.
When the initial thought process was out of the way the discussion leader said to get into groups 또는 pairs 또는 whatever to discuss the point brought up. When the woman approached me about my earlier point i was 더 많이 than willing to argue my position and point out the reasons why i believe what i believe. when i did so she seemed to be getting very defensive and when it was obvious that her arguments weren't bring me around to her way of thinking she said and i quote that i was a
'small close minded guy who was trying to undo the good work of the feminist movement 의해 wanting all the resources spent of guys. Its that sort of thinking 의해 anti-feminists like 당신 that make this world a bad place.'
I left astonished that someone would consider me anti-feminist simply because i suggested that boys might need help 더 많이 than girls do. Over the last two week this has started to really bother me so can a feminist please tell me if what i said is really anti feminist 또는 was this woman just an extreme member?

p.s i would like to apologize in advance for any of my most likely spelling 또는 grammar mistakes. In my defense I am 글쓰기 this on my mobile phone.

I read a lot of stuff online talking about the “tone argument” and how it’s used to silence feminists. The gist of it is that a feminist is angry about something and delivers a criticism of it, and the opposition points to the way the feminist is angry as a means of shutting them down without ever acknowledging the criticism as valid 또는 that the person has a right to be angry. This is a problem, and I have seen it occur in threads, so the anti-tone-argument sentiment has a respectable basis. However, I believe the sentiment is often misused so that it ends up causing the same sort of...
