'Looks like I'm gonna miss that party'
A placed my pencil down, right 다음 to my notebook. Finally, homework done. I really hate exams, so many hours of studying. The worst part is that, I promised to my parents that I'd give my best at the 초 term, and I can't break that promise. I was taught to never break promises.
I sigh, and look out of my room's wide-opened window. It was Summer, outside it was burning hot. I wasn't used to it yet, even though I've been living in this planet for about two years now.
Yes, this planet. Planet Earth, as the people here call it.
After going to a school of this planet's, I've finally learnt most of its story. How people here had wars, 'brilliant' inventions, economic crisis, and....fairy tales.
That's what interested me the most. How, even though they had never seen one, they described 요정 exactly how they are. Every kind of fairy. When I read one of their fairy tales, I couldn't believe my eyes. Even though those creatures that call themselfs humans don't have that kind of knowledge, they somehow managed to discribe us exactly how we are.
Oh yeah, forgot. I am also a fairy. I haven't read any stories about my kind anywhere, so I guess it must be pretty rare in this planet. It's not very surprising, though. My kind doesn't live anywhere else except from one planet, the planet which I come from.
"Maria!" I heard my mother calling me from downstairs.
"Yeah?" I ask.
"It's Mao! 당신 were supposed to meet up at the park with the girls, remember?"
As soon as she said that, I had bolted out of my room, ran downstairs, and bursted into the kitchen, to see my mother holding my mobile phone in her one hand, her other hand holding her hip. That's what she always does when I forget things, usually meetings. I'm used to it.
"I completely forgot!" I exclaim, quickly grabbing my phone.
"You always do" my friend's, Mao's, voice sounded from the phone.
"You better come here at once 또는 we'll force 당신 to listen to Erika singing!" Mao's twin sister's, Noe's, voice sounded from the phone.
"No no!" I whine, "I'll be there as fast as I can! Please don't make her sing!"
"We're waiting at the park, don't 당신 dare be late! Well, 더 많이 late!" Noe says, and, with that, they hang up.
I hang up as well, place my phone in my pocket and run towards the door.
"Maria!" my mother calls again.
"What?" I ask, turning around, my hand on the door handle.
"Remember, you're 14 now!" my mother reminds me.
That's right, 14... "Well, it doesn't really matter! I'll be with Mao and Noe, those two know!" I say, uttering my mother a smile, which seemed to have comforted her a little.
"All right, just, be careful with your Crystal" She says, looking over at my necklace.
I look down at it too, a small smirk crossing my lips. It was a long string, which was holding a white, shiny crystal at the end. I was really proud of that crystal, it proved that I wasn't a begginer anymore. But I knew, now that I have turned 14, that this crystal would soon disappear.
"I have been carrying this since forever, I wouldn't let anything happen to it, unlike the Princess" I say, a slight snicker escaping my lips.
Mom, though, didn't seem so amused, "Hush!"
"Sorry!" I quickly say, remembering that we mustn't say these kind of things for the Loyal Family.
But I couldn't help it, the Princess was one of my best friends.
Snapping out of my thoughts, I finally open the door, "All right, I'm off!" I say, running out of the house as quickly as I could. I honestly didn't want to hear Erika singing.
Very few 분 later...
"You've been studying History for 4 whole hours?" Mao asks surprised, "Not even I do that!"
"No wonder 당신 were late" Noe says, her usual carefree expression on her face.
"You have to learn from her, 당신 never study!" Mao says turning to Noe.
"I do study!" Noe snaps, "Just, not as much as 당신 two"
"Well this is Earth, your world," I speak up, "it's important for 당신 to learn its history and all"
"I know that..." Noe says, pouting.
"But hey, you're not from here, how come 당신 spend so many hours learning about our history?" Mao asks, turning back to me.
"I don't know, it's just that..." I pause for a bit, a smile crossing my lips, "The history of this world, is just so similar with our's. Especially those ancient Greek fairy tales, the Greek mythology, that kids learn at Primary school, every single creature in those stories, is living in our world as well..." I look at the sky, the smile still on my face, "It's like, somehow, our worlds are connected, through history!"
"You do know that I wanna call 당신 a nerd now, right?" Noe asks, staring oddly at me.
"Well sorry for being from another planet and wanting to learn 더 많이 about Earth!" I say, folding my arms.
"You're forgiven" Noe says, and Mao and I stare at her blankly.
"Anyways!" Mao decides to change the subject, "What have 당신 guys decided? Are 당신 going to the school party?"
After hearing about the school party again, I groan, "There's no way I'm going! Those things are completely boring!"
"Come on, it's gonna be awesome!" Noe exclaims. Of course, she was always really into parties.
"I'm sorry Noe, those things do nothing 더 많이 but make me bored" I reply, my hands in my skinny jean's pocket's, "I'd prefer to stay at 집 and read Greek fary tales than being at the school party. I mean, what's so fun about these stuff? All 당신 do is dance, but for how long can 당신 dance?" I commend. That was what I always commend on parties, how boring they can become.
"You won't get bored, we're gonna be with you!" Mao says.
"I'm sorry guys, I just...." I was cut off 의해 a weird feeling striking me. My light blue eyes widen at the sudden shock, as if I was hit 의해 electricity, "Wow... That sure was odd..." I murmur to myself, then notice the twin's expressions, "Huh? What's with those faces?"
"Um..." Noe starts, looking confused, "What's with your Crystal?"
"Humma?" I ask, getting worried. I quickly look down, and, seeing my white Crystal glowing a pure white color, a smirk crosses my lips, "Looks like I'm going to miss the party after all"
