Why didn't Moana's grandmother use the 심장 of Te Fiti to restore her island when it was dying?

Her grandmother kept the 심장 안전한, 안전 for many years, but when she saw that Te Ka's bad influence starts ravaging her island, she never even tried to use the 심장 to bring back life and plantation to where Te Ka's blight struck.
