He doesn't do any of these things. He doesn't save anyone's life. He doesn't do anything significant to the plot of the story. All he does is serve as a possible love interest, which is quite different than a hero. Melody is the only hero-like figure in the story; she shows courage, selflessness and initiative to save the day. The screen time doesn't matter; Prince saved the day by breaking the spell for Snow White, and Charming saved Cinderella from her oppressive life as a scullery maid, which makes him somewhat of a hero also. So no, he should not be in the line-up.

EDIT: Seriously, if he is in there, many other people or things can be added, such as:

- my right pinky toe, which serves as the "love interest" for my left pinky toe
- my white teddy bear, who serves as the "love interest" for my octopus stuffed animal
- a chocolate bar, which serves as the "love interest" for my taste buds, etc. :)

I agree ppgbelle4 and with all the reason that she have listed plus he is not memorable everyone who have seen this movie would not remember him exept for some freaky Disney SEQUEL fanatics. Also i never think that he was a love interest i mean really? Why do people think that? He only cutesy flirt with her that does not make him more important!

He's in two scenes. Asks Melody to hang out with them. Says bye. Sees Melody at the end of the movie and says hi to her. SO HEROIC. -____-

Sure, if they made a spin off show about Atlantica with Ariel, Eric, and Melody after the 2nd little mermaid movie and he and Melody develop a relationship, go on adventures together, and fight evil sea creatures like Ursula was. That would also give Disney an opportunity to make a fan theory of this Merboy (who is named Alex when he introduces himself to Melody in the movie) being Urchin and Gabriella's (a merboy and mermaid from the little mermaid tv show who were friends with Ariel) son true! But in the movie he's not a hero, potential love interest, Melody should have a spot on the list of Disney's heroes, though!
