11 Ways to Tell if You’re Actually Stuck Inside a Disney Movie
Disney movies transport you to faraway places where anything can happen. Sometimes you get so into them while watching, you feel like you’re
the movie itself. Here are 11 telltale signs that you may actually be stuck inside a Disney movie. Note: We won’t provide a guide to getting out of the movie, because let’s be honest, who would ever want to leave one?
1. You find yourself entering magical, imaginative worlds.
The first way to tell that you’re stuck inside a Disney movie is by noticing your surroundings. One minute you might be strolling down the street—the next you’re jumping into a chalk drawing and are transported to an animated land where jolly, frolicking animals join you in song.
If singing animals weren’t surprising enough, the next giveaway that you’re actually stuck inside a Disney movie would be the discovery of anthropomorphic objects. They may startle you, but try not to drop them or trip over them; most of them mean well and want to be your friend. They may even put on a performance for you, if you’re lucky.
Though the talking, charming candlesticks and knowledgeable timepieces certainly make worthy friends, what you’ll really need on your journey is a trusty sidekick. Everyone knows that animals make the best friends. They can sense your mood, advise you when making important choices, and will always stay by your side. If you’re really in a Disney movie, you’ll find yourself traveling down the road with an animal companion before you can say “Bibbidi-Bobbidi-Boo!”
4. You see Mickey characters and shapes that are hidden in everyday objects.
Hidden Mickeys are inserted everywhere in Disney movies (every Disney fan knows that). Just take a look around and see what you notice: Mickey could be hidden in a collection of bubbles, a crowd, or even on the face of a watch.
5. You find yourself bursting into song at dramatic moments.
While we completely advocate for bursting into song in your everyday life, we have a feeling that it’s probably not something you regularly do. However, if you were stuck inside a Disney movie, belting out a power ballad during an intense moment would be completely normal (and even encouraged).
6. Your song might evolve into a giant musical number.
If the moment is epic enough, your song may turn into an entire musical number of “Prince Ali” and “Be Our Guest” proportions. Don’t worry too much about knowing the choreography—it will likely come to your fairly naturally.
As your journey continues, you find yourself confronted with difficulties and tests to prove your gumption and resolve. Fortunately, you have your sidekick and friends at your side to be your biggest cheerleaders and help you persevere through the trials.
To make your Disney odyssey even more difficult, terrible, evil villains will try to stop you along the way. Outsmarting them and abating them of their power will be your hardest challenge yet.
9. Sage advice from unexpected characters helps you soldier on.
Whether you have to face your fears, stand up for what’s right, or make a difficult choice, wisdom will come to you from unconventional, yet enlightened characters. Just don’t be alarmed if a tree starts talking to you and telling you to “listen with your heart.”
Can you feel the love tonight? You will if you find yourself cast as the protagonist of a Disney movie. Your romantic-meet-cute could happen in a variety of ways, but you can bet you and your true love will, at some point, experience a super-sweet moment accompanied by a classic love song.
Friendship is the most magical gift of all, and in a Disney movie you’ll make a friend for a lifetime. It could be your sister, your sidekick, or your favorite stuffed animal, but out of all your epic adventures along the way, your friendship with this character will be the most exciting one of all.
