“Well, do ye have any evidence that she’s bribing them? Scrooge asked.
“Mickey and Goofy have gone over for a closer look and they’re gonna get some photos.” Donald answered.
“Good work lad. Now one of 당신 should go check the cameras so that we will have that footage also. Now I’ve got to go and help 데이지 and Minnie finish getting Webbigail ready.” Scrooge replied then he hung up.
Once Webby was dressed in her ballerina outfit she sat down so that Minnie could do her hair. While she was sitting at the vanity she began to worry about her dance routine. She knew that she hadn’t done a perfect performance, and she hoped she wouldn’t make a mistake that would cost her the pageant.
On the way to auditorium Webby was still worrying about how her performance would go. “Uncle Scrooge, do 당신 think I can make it through my dance with out messing up this time, and win the pageant?” Webby asked.
Scrooge sighed, “Oh darling we’ve been over this so many times. As I told you, I cannot guarantee that 당신 will win, but remember it does not matter whether 당신 win 또는 not.”
“Don’t worry Webby, I’m sure you’ll do fine.” Minnie said
When they were seated Minnie noticed Honeybunch’s outfit again. This time she was wearing a lovely princess dress. Minnie didn’t say anything about it this time because she knew what answer 데이지 would give. Still it bothered her that Mrs. Muddlefoot would spend that much money just to win a pageant.
When Webby started her routine she was very nervous. She was so tense that during the dance routine she tripped and fell. She quickly jumped back up. But then stood there for a few 초 feeling embarrassed, thinking that she should probably just leave because there was no way she could win after that. Then she remembered what Uncle Scrooge had told her about how it didn’t matter if she won, so she continued her dance.
Meanwhile standing down beside the stage, Laura immediately noticed Webby’s fall and began to gloat. “Well, that little mishap should cost her, and assure that the 제목 goes to my Vicky.” She said to herself.
Once the talent portion was over all the little girls lined up on stage eagerly waiting to find out the winner. The announcer said, “Alright ladies and gentlemen, right now the judges are deciding on our winner. But before the winner is announced the owner the Duck’s Inn Hotel, Scrooge McDuck, has something he’d like to show us.”
Laura could not believe her ears. “Wait a 분 McDuck is the owner of this place?!” she shouted. Everyone in the audience stared at her in confusion.
“Aye I am the owner of the Duck’s Inn Hotel.” Scrooge replied, as he stepped up onto the stage “And Laura we’ve got proof of what you’ve been doing. Proof that this whole pageant is a hoax.”
“Oh yeah! What proof!” Laura snapped
“Show footage!” he called
After hearing Scrooge’s orders, Mickey Donald and Goofy came out, pushing a large 텔레비전 on a 카트 and began to play the footage. It played the video of her sneaking into the room and cutting up all the dresses along with 비디오 of her bribing the judges.
Once the 비디오 were done playing the announcer said, “Well Ms. Quackson, this certainly disqualifies your daughter, Miss Victoria Quackson from the Lil’ Miss Duckburg pageant.”
Laura stood there seething with anger, finally she yelled, “Oh Yeah well guess what! I quit!” Then she turned to Scrooge and shouted, “I guess I should have know that some rich loser and his spoiled brat would come in and ruin my little Vicky’s dreams too!”
Donald laughed and said, “Boy, with the stuff you’ve done to just make sure your kid wins, you’ve sure got some nerve calling Uncle Scrooge a loser and Webby a spoiled brat.”
As Laura started to leave, Minnie stood up and called, “Wait Ms. Quackson, what about that large sum of money you’ve been offering to first place winner?”
Laura whirled back around and shouted, “Well, guess what missy the joke’s on you! I don’t have that money and I never had that money! I made the whole thing up to lure some unsuspecting idiots in, so that Vicky would have 더 많이 people to beat and reign over! I didn’t think I’d ever have to give it away, until your rich friend showed up and ruined everything!”
“Our Uncle Scrooge didn’t ruin anything!” Huey, Dewey, and, Louie all shouted together.
“No he didn’t!” called Webby.
“That’s right!” 데이지 yelled, “He just stopped 당신 from continuing to ruin the Lil’ Miss Duckburg Pageant!”
They all glared at Laura and nodded in agreement. Scrooge smiled and said, “Well Laura, do 당신 have anything you’d like to say to us regarding your actions.”
“Only that I’d do it again in heartbeat!” she snapped. Then grabbed Vicky 의해 the hand she stomped out of the room.
“So does this mean I won’t get to be pageant 퀸 any more?” Victoria asked.
“Oh shut up Vicky!” Laura snapped
After they were gone and everyone was seated again the announcer said, “Well, what a surprise. This means that the first place crown and trophy go to our first runner up, and the 초 place to our 초 runner up. Which means… our 초 place winner is Miss Webbigail Vanderquack! Miss Vanderquack come over here and claim your prize!”
All of Webby’s 프렌즈 stood up and applauded. Webby could not believe what she just heard. She jumped up and down with excitement, and then ran over to be crowned and receive her 초 place trophy.
Once everyone had finished applauding the announcer said, “And our first place winner is… Miss Honeybunch Muddlefoot!”
Jane who was sitting only a few chairs down jumped up and shouted, “Whoo-hoo! My baby won!” Then she came running down and threw her arms around Scrooge. “Thank ya so much for them dresses Mr. McDuck. My little Honeybunch wouldn’t never have won, if ya hadn’t bought them 모피 us!”
“Um… It was nothing. Glad I could help.” Scrooge said trying to catch his breath after the huge hug.
“Oh…it sure was somethin’!” Jane said giving him another hug then running up onto stage the to congratulate Honeybunch.
Scrooge then turned and looked at Minnie and Daisy, whom were both smiling at him. “What?” he asked.
“Oh nothing.” Minnie said, “I had just been wondering where Mrs. Muddlefoot got the money to buy all those nice outfits for Honeybunch. I guess this solves the mystery. That was very sweet of you.”
“Yes, that was sweet.” 데이지 said, “ But, just out of curiosity does it bother 당신 that 당신 helped Honeybunch beat Webby?”
“No not in the least.” Scrooge replied, “Do not tell anyone this, but I secretly hoped that Webbigail would not win.”
“Well, why the heck would 당신 hope that?!” 데이지 asked “Oh let me guess, so she wouldn’t want to be in anymore pageants, and 당신 wouldn’t have to spend anymore money on pageants!”
“Well there is that. I am always happy to save a cent.” Scrooge answered, “But 더 많이 importantly I did not my wee Webbigail to think that she had to win a pageant to be beautiful. Err…you wouldn’t understand.”
“Well, I definitely understand.” Minnie said as she leaned over and hugged him.
After the 사진 for the newspaper were taken, all of Webby’s 프렌즈 came over to congratulate her. “Oh congratulation darling!” Scrooge exclaimed as he picked Webby up and hugged her. “Um…I hope 당신 are too disappointed that 당신 came in 초 place.”
“No, I’m not. I understand now that I don’t need to be a pageant 퀸 to be pretty.” Webby answered then she ran off. “I’ll be right back! I’m just going to go congratulate Honeybunch!” she called.
When Mickey was done congratulating Webby he came over to where Minnie was standing, “Say-ya Minnie ya still wanna go out to 공식 만찬, 저녁 식사 tonight? I promise no video-games.”
“Why Mickey I’d 사랑 to.” Minnie replied
Webby over heard this and said, “Say Uncle Scrooge can we go out to 공식 만찬, 저녁 식사 too? I’m kinda in the mood for pizza.”
“Alright darling 피자 does sound good.” Scrooge replied, “Let’s all go celebrate. Dinner’s on me tonight.”
Hearing this Donald Huey Dewey and Louie started to laugh, “Really? You’re actually going to buy everybody dinner?” said Huey
“That doesn’t sound like Uncle Scrooge.” Dewey whispered to his brothers.
“Aye I’m taking us all G.G.’s 피자 where we get their two dollar all 당신 can eat buffet.” Scrooge replied.
“That sounds like him.” Louie said still laughing.
