After realizing that trying clothes was not nearly as much fun without an audience, 데이지 bought all the clothing and accessories she liked, and stomped off to look for Minnie. All the while thinking angry thoughts about her. “Oh when find her, I’ll read her the riot act…that’ll teach her to keep a promise!”
Finally 데이지 came to the girls’ formal section. When she saw Minnie she yelled, “So here are!”
Minnie was so excited about the pageant, that she had forgotten the anger she felt toward 데이지 only a little while ago. As soon as she saw 데이지 she called, “Hey Daisy. I have some wonderful news, I’m sure you’ll 사랑 to hear it.”
Only interested in showing-off her new clothes and accessories, and also rubbing it in that Minnie had left her at the dressing room, 데이지 came over and said arrogantly, “Yeah, yeah whatever. 저기요 check these out!” Holding up 담홍색, 핑크 ballerina 아파트 and pair of black spike heels she added, “I couldn’t decide which new dress, shoes, bow, jewelry, and perfume to buy so… I got them all. I charged my third credit card to the max, but ya gotta spend money to look good!”
Minnie’s anger toward 데이지 quickly returned. She stood there with her arms crossed and glaring, while 데이지 continued to show off all her of items. Finally she said, “Daisy we’ve been over this so many times, 당신 can’t just keep spending money that 당신 don’t have.”
Daisy, seeing this as opportunity to rub it in said, “Now don’t go pointing fingers, remember 당신 promised you’d come and help me choose the best outfit! And left so 당신 see I didn’t have much of a choice!”
A few clothing racks down, Scrooge and Webby were over hearing the conversation. Scrooge cringed at the idea that someone would be so wasteful with their money, and then blame their wastefulness on a friend. Forgetting that he was holding several small formals he stomped over to Minnie and Daisy, Webby followed him also carrying few dresses. He began to wave a fist full of dresses. “Daisy!” He shouted, “Minnie is right 당신 cannot just keep spending your money like it grows on trees! Also 당신 cannot blame Minnie for your wasteful spending habits. She was just…”
데이지 interrupted, “Well, Minnie clearly just doesn’t understand the importance of keeping up with the latest fashions. And you, you’re rich! 당신 can buy whatever 당신 want, whenever 당신 want. 당신 don’t know what’s it’s like to want something 당신 can’t afford! So neither of 당신 have any right to tell me how to spend my money!”
데이지 tuned around and started to walk away. After taking a few steps she realized that Scrooge and Webby were both holding girls’ formal dresses. She walked back to Minnie snapped, “Alright, what the heck are Uncle Scrooge and Webby doing here with pageant dresses?!”
Minnie looked away and said coolly, “That’s what I trying to tell 당신 early. But apparently 당신 weren’t interested.”
“Well, I am interested now. What is it?!” 데이지 said haughtily.
Still hopeful that 데이지 would be happy for her, Minnie said, “Webby is going to be in Lil’ Miss Duckburg this year, and Uncle Scrooge asked me to be her coach.”
But 데이지 was far from happy. “You traitor!” she yelled.
“Traitor?!” exclaimed Minnie
“You knew this was a life long dream of mine but 당신 decided to live it before me!” 데이지 yelled
“What dream?! 당신 always have some new life long dream!” Minnie yelled back
“The one where I enter a little girl in a pageant and have lots of money to spend on her.” 데이지 explained, “ This would have been perfect for making my dream come true. Think about, the girl the pageant, and lots of money! …Of course there are a few minor flaws like it’s lame local pageant, and the money technically isn’t mine. But the point is it would have worked!”
의해 this time there were a lot of people that had gathered to watch the girl fight. Not noticing, Minnie and 데이지 continued to argue. Scrooge stared wide-eyed at them trying to think of what he could do to calm them down. Webby who was also wondering what to do, tugged on his sleeve and said, “Uncle Scrooge, you’ve gotta do something.”
With his eyes still glued to the fight he patted her on the head and said, “Aye dear, I know. I just don’t know what to do. I’ve never tried to stop a fight between two women before.
He gathered up some courage and walked over to them. Putting a hand on each of their shoulders he said nervously, “Now, now lassies let’s calm down. We’ve got quite an audience watching us now.”
This startled both Minnie and Daisy, making them jump. Minnie feeling ashamed of herself, that she behaved this way in public said, “Oh dear, you’re right we need to calm down.”
After recovering from being startled 데이지 said in an arrogant voice, “Well, now that you’re all listening to me, Uncle Scrooge can I be Webby’s coach instead of Minnie? 당신 know, I’d make a much better coach.”
“Sorry 데이지 but the answer is no. That position is already filled 의해 Minnie.” Scrooge said coolly
“WHY?!” 데이지 shrieked
He explained, “Well, for starters Minnie is quite knowledgeable about these pageants. She is also, unlike you, very good with the wee lads and lasses.
“What the heck are 당신 talking about?!” 데이지 asked, “ I know everything about pageants and I’m good with kids.”
“Err… also, with your poor spending habits it would be foolish of me to take any 조언 from you, regarding how to spend my money. ” Scrooge replied
“Well, I can tell when I’m not wanted!” 데이지 shouted, “Peace out!” then she stomped off.
After she left, Minnie and Scrooge stood there staring at each other without saying a word for what seemed like ages to Webby. She realized while she was waiting for the boring silence to end that she was very hungry. She finally broke the silence, “Uncle Scrooge, I’m hungry can we get something to eat?”
Hearing that Minnie realized that she too was hungry and said, “Actually I haven’t eaten since breakfast, been shopping all 일 with Daisy, so come to think I’m hungry too.”
Scrooge took out his pocket watch after seeing that it was already after 6 o’clock he said, “My, it’s much later then I thought it was, far past our 저녁 식사 time. No wonder we’re all hungry. Let’s go to food-court and get some supper.”
Meanwhile just outside the food-court sitting on bench drinking some soft drinks were Laura and Vicky. “Oh, Vicky why did 당신 have to make fun of Webbigail, and tell her that if she wanted to pretty she had to enter the ‘Lil Miss Duckburg Pageant? Why?” Laura asked
“You’re the one who’s always telling me to tell world just how beautiful I am. And how the heck was I ‘sposed to know her uncle’s like richest guy in the universe?!” Victoria answered
Laura sighed, “Well what’s done is done, now we have to think of a way to get them to quit.”
Vicky slammed her fist down on her cup crushing it and spilling the contents all over the floor and yelled, “Well what’s the big deal, I’ll just win like I always do?!”
“Vicky, look what you’ve done!” Laura snapped
“Well the janitorial staff will get it. That’s what they’re here for. Right?!” Vicky replied
They continued to argue unaware, that Scrooge Webby and Minnie were passing behind them; on their way to the food-court. Scrooge and Minnie, who busy talking about the up-coming pageant, did not notice the big puddle of soda on the floor. However Webby noticed and yelled, “Uncle Scrooge! Miss Minnie! Don’t step there!”
The yell surprised and startled both of them. Minnie jumped a little but fortunately she moved away from the puddle. When Scrooge jumped, he moved just enough that his cane tip ended up in the soda, and he fell flat on his face.
“Oh dear, are 당신 alright?” Minnie exclaimed
“Oh no, are 당신 okay/” Webby yelled
“Uh… I’m fine.”, he said
Scrooge stood up; his legs were a little shaky. All of a sudden there was a horrible sharp pain in his knees. “Curse me kilts!” he shouted “I’ve got to sit down.”
“Oh, let me help you. Webby can 당신 carry these shopping bags honey?” Minnie said
“Sure, Miss Minnie.” Webby replied
Webby’s warning yell had caught the attention of Laura and Victoria. They turned around just in time to Scrooge fall. Vicky started to laugh and yell an insult at Webby. But Laura slapped her hand over her mouth and whispered “Shut-up Vicky! This maybe what we need to get rid McDuck and his bratty niece.”
Then she pulled out her smart phone and took a photo, of Minnie and Scrooge holding hands. As they left she whispered, “Come on. Let’s follow them!”
Leaning on Minnie, Scrooge managed to hobble to the food-court. Once he was sitting down she helped him put feet up on a chair. Then she asked, “What does everyone want for dinner?”
Scrooge handed her his wallet and said, “We’ll take the Lovers’ Combo from Burgers R Us.”
“The Lovers’ Combo? What on earth is that?” asked Minnie
“It’s two burgers, two fries and two drinks. I’ve always gotten because it’s two dollars less than two separate combos… I suppose they gave it that name hoping to attract young couples that are dating,” he explained.
“Oh, I guess that makes sense.” Minnie said
When Minnie returned with 저녁 식사 they fell face first into it. Once the edge had been taken off their hunger they began to look at the list of pageant item while still eating. They continued to read the list and discuss the pageant long after the 음식 was gone, unaware that someone was spying on them.
