Did anyone else think that some of the things included in "The Hunchback of Notre Dame" were a tad bit inappropriate for young children?

i think 디즈니 did an excellent job making the innapropriate scenes subtle enough that children that young weren't able to pick up on anything. I remember when I watched Hellfire as a child, the song Frollo sings about wanting to rape and murder Esmeralda, I just though he was angry at her. I couldn't pick up the subtle messages. Now that I'm older, I get it, but i think the adult themes in the movie were not able to be picked up 의해 young children.

Hunchback wasn't inappropriate enough as they totally changed the story! I don't know exactly when it happened but people somewhere along the way started to think that 디즈니 영화 were actually intended for young children. The classics pull from fairy tales, legends and stories that are not Mickey Mouse. Evil step mothers, death, poisoned apples, Pleasure Island?, the intention of making 강아지 into coats....the audience for these should not include really young children but as I said, many people think 디즈니 means bring along the toddlers and young children.

Well maybe it explains why it was one of the least succesful 디즈니 classics... but no, I don't think so. I heard that in that new film, Enchanted, that someone said the word 'fuck'. THAT goes a bit too far...

it had its moments, but kinds dont know any of that crap anyway, i didnt when i first saw it and when i recently saw it i was all like, wo, there's a lot of stuff i didnt understand back then. on a side note, that is my most fave 디즈니 movie mostly cuz frollo is such a deep and interesting character for a bad guy

I think that the best 디즈니 영화 are written with both kids and adults in mind, most 디즈니 films have things like that but maybe the hunchback had a little more.

a bit rude for young children

Yes, 당신 are paranoid. Family films are called family films for a reason. They are entertaining enough for children and adult jokes to fly over childrens' heads because they are too young to understand the content. As a child I didn't understand half the things 디즈니 portrays in its films and I still watched them everyday and treasured them to death. I still do as I'm older because I can catch onto the adult content and still keep the memories of how it made me feel as a child. 또는 else everything made 의해 디즈니 would be like "Dora the Explorer."

But as a child I did not like it. And now that I am older, I find the dark side of it very appealing.
It isn't appropriate, but not a lot of 디즈니 영화 are. But see in 영화 like 101 dalmations they had something cute to distract the main Idea.

And What I'm trying to say is. Children all they cared about was the 강아지 (not all but the general idea)

as in many disney/family entertainment films.
Kids dont pick it up as easily. as people who are older.

So yes, It is inappropriate. But it's also brilliant
