I've seen a lot of polls and countdowns about which Disney Princess is the best role model, but I haven't seen one for the guys yet, so I decided to do a countdown for them.

At this point I hope either he, Naveen or Flynn leaves, I'm honestly not sure which to pick. I considered choosing Flynn because stealing does directly hurt people, but we only ever see Flynn steal from rich people, anyways. I also thought choosing Naveen instead of John, but I think that being bigoted and entitled is worse than being spoiled and a womanizer.

He's a TERRIBLE role model. He lies, is a womanizer, flirts with women even though he's getting married, stupid, rude, is abusive towards his servants, never admits he makes a mistake, blames others for his mistakes, expects the world to give him a living because he "deserves" it, is lazy as hell and yet when it comes to having fun is energetic, is spoiled, and selfish.

I agree with Katara.

Lazy and spoiled, simple as that and also some of the worst traits a person can possess. You won't make it in this world.

While John Smith is terrible. If you believe his character development, then he has done several admirable sacrifices like taking the blame for Kocoum's death and taking a bullet for Powathan, which balances things out a bit. And since this is for young boys, I will ignore how rushed his development was and will probably vote for him after Flynn. And I don't entirely blame people for having a type of mindset, no matter how wrong I think it is.

Did the point of Naveen and the Beast being jerks just go over people's heads? of course they're jerks, they're supposed to be. you can't make a kind person develop into a kind person. or a hard worker into a hard worker. self improvement, learning to be kind and value hard work are very important lessons for anyone.

^And Flynn learned to stop stealing and gave his life to the one he loved. All the Princes are redeemed in someway.

I agree with what everyone else has said.

I can't stand how much he mooches off of people. That is never a good trait to have. His parents even cut him off and he still doesn't get the message, with his constant spending and partying. It takes getting turned into a frog (and some harsh words from Tiana) for him to realize that he can't constantly depend on others to fight his battles for him.

Racist and bigoted. He does change in the end but his transformation isn't done very well. All it takes is one musical number and suddenly POOF! Good guy John Smith. At least Naveen, Flynn, and the Beast go through character arcs, John Smith's change just feels artificial.

Compulsive Liar! Dishonesty is the worst.

Eh. He's lazy and a womanizer. John Smith's capacity to think about the impact of colonization was more convincing than Naveen's 180 change to be a working man.

Why John Smith? Despite his ignorance at the start, he develops and his character teaches acceptance... I think he's a good role model.
