A Little Iffy, IMO!

Beauty is kind and non-materialistic. Her sisters are spoilt but she cares about her father's health and feelings more than his money. When she learns that she has to stay with the Beast, she's devestated but forces her father to uphold his promise. When she stays in the castle, she has many things to do such as painting and reading but she's not happy and often has to cry herself to sleep at night. She tells the Beast, to his face, that he is much too ugly for anyone to love. She goes to heal her father and is so happy to be away and to see him that she doesn't return to the Beast. The Beast dies because she left him but she realises her mistake and rushes to save his life. He returns to life and becomes a prince, they mysteriously fall in love for no reason and get married. The End.

I like her because she's a two-faced bitch, even if she is sweet and kind and caring. When she makes a mistake, she realises it and rectifies it, rather than having no regret and just waiting for things to sort themselves out.

I love it as it is.

I love Disney's BaTB, but the Ladybird version sounds more interesting :) I agree with Straggy

Well I never read the Ladybird one but that version sounds too much like me, telling the guy straight out that he's too ugly to love, no matter how nice he is and how much he spoils the girl by giving so much of himself.

I don't like characters that are like me. So I guess I'll go with the Disney version because Belle is like my role model.

NO or indifferent. I think Disney movies are fine the way they are. I wouldnt change anything about any of the Princesses. That may sound passive but I do love them all in a certain way. Ariel and Belle the most, but I like all.

Disney did justice to Belle's character in my opinion.
