So I was watching the movie again, and I realized Belle was really only there for like....4 days. And only 1 of those days did she like the Beast....so....I realized that they're not a very realistic couple at all, and I don't know why people think they are.

Let's see...Maurice goes to the castle. gets stuck. Belle comes a day later. she's there. then she's still there later. so let's say 2 days she wanders around. runs away from the Beast. the next day beast gives her a library, because the bandages are still fresh on his arm. then she leaves, comes back, saves him...so, that's what....3 days. She was there 3 days? So....yea....

Maurice gets locked in the castle.

The next day, after rejecting Gaston, Phillipe takes her to castle. She gives up her freedom and cries on bed. After the Gaston sequence which takes place on the same night because Maurice is seen frantically returning to the village, the film cuts back to Belle, still crying on her bed. Then she refuses dinner and the Beast gets angry. That night, she leaves her room and admits she actually wishes she had eaten but they are cleaning up the dinner they'd prepared. They do "Be Our Guest" and Belle asks for a tour. She sneaks away from the tour and goes into West Wing. Beast entered there the last time we saw him (when he sees her in the mirror telling the closet she doesn't want to get to know him). He scares the shit out of her, saves her from the wolves, they reach an understanding.

DAY ONE: she is playing with the dog. It was snowy because as we saw the day before when she threw herself on the bed, it was snowing. He gives her the library because she's still wearing the green dress.

DAY TWO: Something There and Human Again She wears pink dress. Then Beauty and the Beast ballroom dance. That night, Belle is freed, tends to Maurice, deals with the mob, escapes her cellar and goes back to castle, finds Beast, confesses love etc.

So that would be 2 nights, 2 days.

EDIT: The sequels throw everything off which is why I dismiss them with three simple words: Fuck that shit.

I honestly have no clue, hehe. But, I'd suspect it's about a week, when including the sequels.

Since we saw the sequels which means it's obviously been longer than a few days and it seems that when the movie was over it was spring when the whole time she's been at the castle it was winter in the beginning it was fall I think so she's been there for a while

YES, but then we see Maurice leave the castle and immediately go back to save Belle, and Belle leave the castle to save him. This takes place over one day. So clearly the sequels mess the timeline up. You can't go by the sequel, because they didn't make it to correlate with the movie, only to make money. Sequels do not count.

Maurice truly is fucking crazy if it takes him three months to find the castle. Seeing as he left his house to find Belle the night she was locked up. And congrats to Lefou for standing in one position in a pile of snow for three months and surviving. Someone call Guinness. Honestly, what are you people smoking? Three months does not logically make sense and I'm going to have to insist that princesslullaby delete that option. It's quite simply ridiculous. The only logical choice is 2 days. My first comment explains it perfectly clearly.

The three months option is so retarded that I cannot respect anyone who chooses it. That's all.

just because we believe both the original and sequels happened together doesn't mean we're smokeing anything how rude

okay! yea! because le fou must have an AMAZING metabolism and blood system, as well as impenetrable skin to survive winter outside covered in snow for 3 months! and we all know now maurice doesnt give two shits about his daughter when it took 3 months for him to return to the castle, when it clearly takes only 1 day to get there! thanks for clearing that up!

My first comment completely justifies the fact that she is in the castle for two days. End of story. Anyone who believes otherwise is delusional.

Well, if you want to make an argument for a longer time, it IS a movie, so time can skip around a bit. It is probable that the snow falling when Belle is crying was just a representation of winter coming. It was not necessarily the same snow that was on the ground in Something There. Since it is a movie, time can move faster, dont'cha know.

^^ But read our above comments. Maurice went back for Belle as soon as HE got back, and that's when beast freed belle, so that was only a day.

Or 3. Though all this time, I thought that Le Fou stayed under the snow for a really long time.

It's possible. I sat there for a good five minutes munching on my bacon and thinking it through.
The whole thing takes place through the season of Winter. At the start, we see the falling leaves of Autumn. So it's late October/early November. Then she goes to the Beast's castle and it's snowing. There's Winter, so we're well into November by now. Then when the film ends, the leaves are back ad it's Spring. Winter lasts for 3 months, hence the film lasts for 3 months.
Unless you're now saying that Winter can last just two days. Either that or this film's inconsistensies don't just lie in the animation quality because the backdrop clearly shows the scenes passing through Winter.

At the start of the movie, it's autumn.
Then it's winter. Very clearly.
Then the snow thaws.
AT LEAST 3 months.

I've seen snow fall during autumn and melt later the same day.
Le Fou being in the snow seals the deal for me.
From start to finish, Belle couldn't have that castle longer than 3 days before beast turned human.

People reference the snow.

The first evening Belle is there, it is clear, but after dinner song (still the same night) she enters the west wing and is scared off. When she exits, it's snowing hard. That same evening Gaston plops his buddy in a snowpile at Belle's home and told him not to move. There's no way he stayed there 3 months. Next day belle brings dad home and buddy emerges from snowman to alert gaston.

I get that there are sequels that extend the timeline but we have to go with the original.
