I'm not sure, but I liked her and her father being kind of outcasts together, I think adding more people to that makes it a little less special. Besides, if she had siblings she wouldn't have to go back to care for her father, she could have let them do it, and I think Beast letting her go to help her father is one of the movie's better moments. I'm sure they'd have found a way to make it work well, but I like it as it is.

asvini, in the original the siblings only care about material possessions and their very handsome husbands so they end up leaving the father alone and Beauty has to help him. (and just like the movie the romantic part is that she comes back for the beast even after she is given freedom)
the reason they didn't is that they felt it was too much like cinderella(which i could sort of understand)
