Well, either this or Maleficent. I just can't imagine Cinderella being a standalone movie at all.

i enjoy beauty and the beast because of nostalgia but now that i think about the movie itself Emma Watson's acting in beauty and the beast dont convince me , i didnt really feel the connection beetween the main characters And maleficent has very few characters who are developped not a lot of things in the movie happen and there are some illogical moment ( why hide aurora next to where maleficent live , which side are on the 3 fairies , why the last fairy never try to attenuate's maleficent curse , maleficent's name since her birth, the movie's lesson "everything is not black and white" who dont Work because the king is evil )
So i would Say Cinderella its a good movie we have a lot of standalone film about Cinderella's fairy tale who are not Disney

Basically, what Magicworld said. I was not convinced that Belle and Beast were in love in the live action version.
Maleficent has its moments, but its more relying on the original movie from 1959.

Cinderella works as a stand alone film, even if you had never seen the cartoon version.

Call me bias whatever, but the other two aren't my cup of tea anymore.

I like both a lot, but since I never really liked Beauty and the Beast growing up, and this movie made me like it, then I have to pick this one. Although, I ended up liking Cinderella a lot more with the remake as well.

It's similar to the animated version but different enough to set it apart, I barely even think about the original when I'm watching it. Besides there's many different Cinderella-story movies out there that are completely fine standalone, so this isn't any different. I think it works either way.

BatB was pretty much a carbon copy of the original and relied way too heavily on the nostalgia of audiences. I know nostalgia is involved with all these remakes, but not to the extent here; I really don't think many (myself included) would enjoy it as much if it wasn't for the nostalgic aspect of 95% of the scenes/music/etc. I actually don't mind it as a movie but I don't think it works standalone, when I'm watching I'm comparing every little thing to the original.

With Maleficent you'd probably need to be aware of the original tale to understand it, but I pretty much already view it as a standalone movie anyway, just a different interpretation rather than a remake.

The other two are bad.
