I haven't done in article in forever, and want to do a soundtrack list sometime. these two are both the best if you ask me, or at least at the top somewhere. I just can't decide. it's a bit of an unfair advantage how Poca has many more songs than SB though.

It's Tchaikovsky. No offense to Disney's composers, but it's pretty hard to beat one of the greatest composers of all time.

Seeping beauty sounds like a nice soundtrack and it does have a stunning one. It's just how unmemorable most of the songs are. There's just something about the music sounding so bland and how the movie's soundtrack doesn't really have a song that stands out that much in my opinion. There was "Once upon a dream", but besides that every other song isn't that memorable. Though I guess I have to agree with MaidofOrleans here with the soundtrack being compose by Tchaikovsky which by the way did a great job at the background music and like I said earlier it does sound stunning. Which in comparison makes it better objectively.

Personally I prefer the more enticing songs that's in Pocahontas, and the effort that they put in finding a voice that suits Pocahontas to match the music and tone of the movie. Though as much as I will like to say Pocahontas have by far the better soundtrack. It really doesn't in some cases. Sure just like SB soundtrack I'll have to nitpick to find faults in, but still it does feel a bit more flawed in soundtrack then Sleeping Beauty. So, I guess I'll give a point to SB for this one.

MaidofOrleans has a point - I personally agree with her, but we're talking objectively here -, but I think being adapted from Tchaikovsky's ballet is a double-edged sword:. the score is so striking that it undermines the lyrics at times. Besides, it has one filler song ("Skumps"), while Pocahontas has none.

Both are pretty good, but SB beats Pocahontas in terms of instrumentals. Pocahontas has probably the best song collection of all the DP films, but you can't beat Tchaikovsky.

Objectively, I prefer Pocahontas for its original score. SB's score is nice, and I'm glad Walt credited Tchaikovsky for having the original score music. But as soundtracks go, SB is the orchestral score to a ballet, while Pocahontas is a soundtrack with distinct songs ( almost the entirety of which I like, and two of which I adore).

I don't remember any music or songs from Sleeping Beauty. Meanwhile, there are quite a few memorable ones from Pocahontas.

As a piece of music, this one is better. Though I would say I think Pocahontas is better as film music than Sleeping Beauty.
