I hate to read too much into this, but she basically abandoned Marshmallow and got rid of those little things from Frozen Fever. While Ariel made mistakes, at least she was trying to protect and help Melody.

Elsa doesn't do anything with her creations, except creating that "flurry" for Olaf that one time. She's a very irresponsible creator, much like Victor Frankenstein.

I don't consider Elsa a mother either, so....and I do not find Ariel a good mother. A good mother isn't lying to her child for 12 years.

Like audreybrooke said, Elsa's more of a creator than a mother.

well, to be fair, if Elsa actually had kids I'm positive she'd be WAY more responsible with them. at least she does try with Anna (even if she ends up failing). so I don't think it's fair to compare. Besides, Ariel's a sweet mother but she is kind of a hypocrite with Melody. Not bad, just not comparable.
