"Let it Go" is a lousy song, chock-full of contradictions and (subsequently) a false sense of empowerment. The only thing awe-inspiring about it is Idinia's gorgeous voice. "Colors of the Wind," however, not only possesses flawless vocals, but remains a thought-provoking testament to our treatment of the environment AND anything unfamiliar to us in general.

Really? Let It Go is annoying after the first five times you've heard it. Colors of The Wind is composed far better, and has far better lyrics.

I don't think Disney songs shouldn't be too looked into it makes the song a lot worse if you do that . Like for example "Color Of the Winds" closely or just look at the tittle itself. Do you know wtf is painting with all the colors of wind? Do you know how to do this very important thing that the lyrics try to hammer in that you need it to understand the earth a lot better? Well, you can assume that it's her powers or it's just a metaphor about a nature lesson but, that's just assuming. Since throughout the whole song they are just having her sing lyrics about nature while actually showing you that she is in fact painting with the colors of the wind constantly. No, really it isn't showing it as a metaphor . She's actually painting with all the colors of the wind. I was going to stick with it's just a metaphor if it wasn't for that sample fact. Which means if you don't have her magical powers you aren't very connected with earth. I know that wasn't intended and it's nitpicking but, that's what people seem to be doing with "Let it Go" . They are thinking way too deeply into a stupid Disney song but, hey who I'm I to judge you can look into anything deeply if you want. Just please don't nitpick the song you think is way too overrated and too talked about. It just doesn't really make sense to me but, again it's your choice and I respect the opinions of others even if I don't really agree with it or don't really understand why you think that. I just noticed this whole comment is pointless.

I like the melody of Colors of the Wind but I like the meaning of Let it Go better.
OnceUponaSptmbr, that's EXACTLY the point. Elsa was having a false sense of empowerment when she thought running away from her problems would solve everything. She wasn't truly empowered because she was isolated and she had to face her fears.

@peacefulcritic, I don't think your comment is pointless. I actually agree with you. It's easy to nitpick because people get annoyed when they think something's overrated.
