My LEAST favorite is Mulan, so..

Elsa?? I'm not sure she's ever considered a role model, just someone to relate to.

Poor Snow gets a lot of hate just because she was a 1937 product.

Yep, Snow White. She's the most entitled, bossy princess of them all, and I hate it.

Despite how Ariel is very careless, thoughtless, inconsiderate, and self-motivated. She's shown to skip out on her responsibilities long before she meets her prince, blow off her family, show little concern for the well-being of others (like Flounder in the sunken ship), shows little to no gratitude for what others do for her (like when she just pats Sebastian's head and walks away after he nearly died), makes the STUPIDEST DECISIONS (like trusting the sea witch and entering that gamble of her life), and never learns a lesson by the end.

I would NEVER want to be like Ariel, and I would never want my child to be like her either. She's a HORRIBLE role model. I would never want my child to be selfish, careless, thoughtless, reckless, inconsiderate, self-motivated, self-involved, ungrateful, unhelpful, etc. Yet for some demented reason, people everywhere of all ages (from adults to children) think she's a good role model and want to be like her or want their kids to be like her, and for the life of me, I don't understand it.

Damsels are stereotypically bossy, proactive and don't need rescuing, I guess ;)

Belle was my least favorite till I could no longer stand Rapunzel. Both are widely regarded as good role models. I do agree Belle mostly is (but if poor choices make you one- COUGH Snow White- then Belle is the worst for the west wing scene and letting her freakin' stalker in the house) but personally I don't think Punz is. She's the most selfish (yes, more than Ariel since Ariel simply doesn't think of how her actions will effect others while Rapunzel knew and did it anyway), rebellious and thinks her desires are more important than sticking to her morals. And her dream wasn't even important. it was just looking at some lanterns. she didn't even try to fulfil the whole purpose of going- to see who was sending them! what a waste.

Aurora is considered a good role model by some, but we don't really see much of her to say if she is a good or bad role model. I think from what we've seen she is nuetral.

Some people see Aurora as a good role model, some don't. I find her to be a pretty weak role model myself.

Tygers_Eye, I'll try to make this quick. You said "like when she just pats Sebastian's head and walks away after he nearly died." Ariel had absolutely no idea what went on in the kitchen. And even though she saw Sebastian on the plate, there was nothing that would make her think that his life was in danger. Grimsby isn't going to eat a live crab. Ariel uses quick thinking to get Sebastian to safety. But really, he was in no danger on that plate. Besides, Sebastian didn't risk his life in the kitchen for Ariel. That didn't help her in any way, and she never asked him to come. But with all that aside, Ariel had no idea he almost died, plain and simple. I interpreted it as Ariel patted his head to say something like "I like you, and I appreciate you being here with me. I'm also really tired." Because personally, I thought Sebastian was rambling and almost complaining (but he had a good reason to complain) when Ariel needed sleep.

My now-least favorite is Pocahontas because Aurora's going to move up from being last, but that could still change.

My least favorite princess is Ariel. I find her an atrocious role model for being careless, inconsiderate, selfish, rude, pushy, and an airhead. Although these things considered, I agree with Tygers_eye that she is constantly defended as a good role model for being the first rebellious princess. Even though she, as some say, "paved the way for princesses after her" I see Ariel to get off the hook just because the princesses after her didn't take after her selfishness. Nope, I just can't choose anything but this.

I don't know about Rapunzel, but Anna is most definitely up there.
