I think also for her softness but that's just becuz you don't want a goldigger. Belle and Adam don't rush straggy. She deserved better than a guy who would insult and mocke her working class status (just like he mocked his less privileged friend/helper calling him "fat") throughout the first part of the movie and who would magically ~ change his ways because he cooked a soup with her or whatever. And I never understood where did their romantic feelings for each other come from, there was no build up at all: at first they basically represented what one another hated the most about life and people (that happening after their first forced kiss based on lie and Tiana's desire to get hgis money), they both tried to point at what was wrong with one another in their opinion, then they made a dinner together and suddenly Naveen is in love with her. No signs of feelings on Tiana's part followed. Then at some point Naveen, who supposedly has feelings for Tiana, decides to marry Charlotte in order to break a spell and buy Tiana a resturant that she always dreamt of - apparently, like in every healthy and equal relationship he believed that her business was more important for Tiana than him. And only then Tiana decides to be with him and marry him. It was the most WTF pairing ever. Also not fond of Pocahontas/Smith because he always took decisions for her whereas she was too independent to take it and ended up doing everything on her own.
