Hi everyone!

I've been inspired 의해 the numerous Getting to Know 기사 that I've seen recently, so in this article, I'm going to follow suit. Hope 당신 like mine!

Intro: I'm Asian and I'm female and I'm fourteen - fifteen 의해 the time 2016 ends - and I'm living in the Northeast part of the U.S. Used to live in Houston and hated it.

I'm in ninth grade and a nerd, basically - a science-y, artsy, musical, bookish nerd.

Physical Appearance: I'm 5 foot 3 and a quarter inches, I have long black hair and some freckles and I have eyes that get really creepily large and round when I'm excited.

Hobbies: I play the violin, and have been doing so for seven years. I also take karate, read excessively, draw, and try to muddle through 글쓰기 sci-fi books, none of which I have ever finished.

I also sing 디즈니 songs in my bedroom when nobody else is at home.

가장 좋아하는 Subjects: A huge tie between Language Arts, Biology, German, Art, and Orchestra.

Least 가장 좋아하는 Subjects: Math. Social Studies is a close second.

What I'm Good At: My hobbies. And also internalizing completely and utterly useless information about animals.

What I'm Bad At: Talking to people, not bumping into people, not tripping while I go up the stairs, and not being an awkward teenager.

Things I Hate: Bugs, spiders, and the dark.

1. Tangled, because I see myself in Rapunzel.

2. Tomorrowland, because Tomorrowland looks like something I've dreamed about (one of the rare dreams that isn't a creepy nightmare in which somebody dies 또는 in which 공룡 are chasing me) and because Athena is just badass. She also reminds me a tiny bit of myself.

3. The Giver, because it really makes 당신 appreciate how beautiful life is.

가장 좋아하는 Place: Home, where I have my 침대 and my 음식 and my family and friends.

I've never been out of the U.S., but I'd like to visit Germany, Paris, and Madrid if I ever get the chance.

Personality:

I'm creative, intelligent, horribly naïve and sensitive, and really competitive, but my other traits can vary.

On good days, I'm bubbly and energetic and kind.

On bad days, I either criticize 또는 don't talk to people and am very, very lazy.

According to the Myers-Briggs test, I'm an INFP.

My Dreams:

Realistic: find love, be successful.

Unrealistic: become a 디즈니 animator.

laylastepford Great article! It's nice to know the people on here, especially the really active ones, and I see you are a very active user so thank you for all of your contributions to the DP club as well as letting us get to know you! I actually really like making new friends so I hope you don't mind the long response! :D I'm mixed Asian myself so we sort of have that in common. :) That's cool that you live in the northeast of the US, I would love to live there! We are also similar in size! Except I'm shorter, even though I'm older. I think it's amazing that you play the violin, I think that's a lovely instrument! May I ask what belt you have in karate? :) That's so cool that you're interested in German culture as I am too! <3 That seems somewhat rare to find in the US. :) I find it very ironic and interesting that one of your least favorite subjects is social studies because you seem like you're pretty social and open to other cultures as well. I completely hate bugs and spiders etc. too. :D The Lindt chocolate truffles are my absolute favorite! <3 I have never had beignets or dim sum. Would you mind explaining what they are and/or what they taste like? By your favorite songs, it seems like you have an eclectic taste in music! :D I love reading as well but unfortunately I am not familiar with the majority of books on your list aside from the Harry Potter series (which I read obsessively and very indulgently as a child!<3) and Charlotte's Web by E.B. White & Through the Looking-Glass by Lewis Carroll, which I have never read. I am sorry about your creepy nightmares, I've had similar ones (with people trying to kill me as well as with dinosaurs existing in our world, funny enough!). I have never heard of the film "The Giver". Most of your favorite TV shows are shows I have never heard of or never seen. I don't think it's an unrealistic dream for you to want to be a Disney animator if you have the talent. :) Overall you seem like a great person, pretty similar to Rapunzel in that you are sweet and have an eclectic taste. :D Thank you for giving us a chance to get to know you better! :D

ace2000 Wow! I'm actually sincerely touched that you took the time to write such a detailed response! :D I have a red belt XD working my way to black I love Lindor truffles! And beignets are basically deep fried pastries that you put powdered sugar on top of - so much better than donuts. Dim sum is essentially a million small dumplings and assorted buns that I consider a staple of outstanding Chinese restaurants. That's the one thing I liked about Houston - it had this huge amazing Chinese restaurant called Fung's Kitchen that served tons of dim sum on Sundays. The Queen of Thailand ate there. :) The Giver is a film based on Lois Lowry's book of the same name. Personally, I preferred the movie over the book, because I had more of an emotional response to it, but my opinion doesn't seem to be very popular. Oh well. And thanks for the encouragement concerning my dream - it made my day. :) Again, thanks for commenting! I love hearing what people have to say! :D

laylastepford ^ Of course, you took the time to write a detailed article about yourself so you deserve detailed responses, as long as you don't mind them! :D That's awesome, congratulations on your red belt! You must have been working on it for a long time to get this far? I started karate when I was younger but unfortunately had only worked my way up to 2nd degree yellow belt and could no longer continue. I greatly admire the self-control and discipline that karate teaches. <3 Thank you for explaining "beignets" and "dim sum" to me! I super appreciate it! So are beignets basically like funnel cake then? I personally am not a big fan of sweet stuff but you made me want to try the "dim sum"! They kind of sound like an Asian version of pierogies, which are Eastern European dumplings that usually contain (mashed) potato, sauerkraut, ground meat, cheese and/or fruits, which I LOVE<3. Well I am really glad that you mentioned "The Giver" to me because it sounds a lot like the books 1984 by George Orwell and Brave New World by Aldous Huxley, which are both on my favorite list. I also have a lot of respect for the actress Meryl Streep, so I will definitely check that out! anukriti2409 Hello, nice to meet you! I'm Asian too, Indian in specific, living in India. I;m quite older than you but thats okay :) It is so awesome that you can and learning to play violin! I simply love musical instruments and i had wished so much in my childhood to learn to play piano and guitar, but I;m not really good with instruments. I have little patience with it. So i left in between. I learnt many dance forms, instead, being so energetic! As a child, i also took karate lessons and only reached till Green Belt. Its so awesome you are already at red belt, i know it can take tremendous effort and energy to stay focused. I wish and hope you go higher! i love language arts too! and dont really like maths although I;m quite good at it. I love social studies a lot, especially human behavior and history. I also used to read excessively in my school days. I used to draw and paint as well. I also have written many stories and written a novel as well, but can't seem to find patience and dedication to do the editing of it. I hope i'll find that enthusiasm to complete it. I;m not such a fan of chocolates or its flavors but when mood strikes i love milk chocolates or centre-filled dark chocolates. I absolutely love dimsums! they are my favorite snack of all time! I absolutely detest bugs and spiders and all kinds of reptiles, they are so ugly and make me feel yuck from insides. I love dark, though, it makes me super imaginative. I'm very much a night person. I simply love The book thief. I also like Charlotte's web and through the looking glass. I haven't heard about the others much. I love Beatles, its my one of the favorite bands of all times! I just love most of their songs! <333 I also love Coldplay! What are your favorites in Disney? I'd love to know all about it too :) I have read mostly all your articles and gotten to know few favorites of course. And trust me, there's no unreal dream. You can become/get what you dream! ace2000 Aw, you're so sweet!! Thanks for the encouragement - it really touches me. :) Yes, I did neglect to talk about Disney in my article, so here goes: The DPs that will remain my constant favorites are Rapunzel and Mulan XD. My favorite Disney prince is Eugene (and Hercules if he counted as a prince), and my favorite Disney heroines are Jane from Tarzan and Megara from Hercules. My favorite Disney animals would probably be Pascal and Maximus from Tangled, Lady from Lady and the Tramp, Rita from Oliver & Company, Tod from The Fox and the Hound, and Bambi from Bambi. I watched Bambi SO MUCH when I was younger, as well as most of the other animal-centered movies. Not so much the DP movies - that's a more recent thing :) My top five Disney/Pixar movies are Tangled, Tomorrowland (unpopular opinion), Hercules, 101 Dalmatians, and Inside Out. I love Hercules because I really relate to Megara and her reluctance to let herself fall for somebody. 101 Dalmatians is a story about the sort of family I wish I had. And Inside Out is just a touching, hilarious, and creative work that admirably attempts to explain why kids are the way they are. I really appreciate your comment and thanks for spending time on it! Why I 사랑 princess Merida!

I recently added Merida to my favourite princesses list! I just 사랑 her! I had said before that I prefep romatic ones, but that changed with Merida, a free- spirited character, different than others. Merida is amazing, she is 메리다와 마법의 숲 and stubbon, headstrong and determined and she follows her heart, no matter what will happen! As she says, she is selfish, but I like her anyway! I 사랑 her hair and how she feels free running and climbing! She learns from her mistakes and she is able, even to marry afterwars for her mother, sonmething that changes. Having done a favourite DP and favourite DP movie list, I could not resist doing a prettiest DP list. This was the hardest list of all, mainly because all the Princesses are really beautiful. Snow White & The 7 Dwarfs:

I really 사랑 the ending of this movie, it's my 가장 좋아하는 movie scene of all time. The scene makes me emotional everytime I watch it not only because of all the emotions shown in the scene, but also because this scene is so beautifully drawn especially the very end when Snow White & Prince ride off into the sunset and we see the Prince's castle, also my two 가장 좋아하는 songs from the movie are heard again here

DP Personality Analysis Part 2: The Early Renaissance- Just a Normal Girl

In the 90s, 디즈니 was going for something different in their leading ladies. They wanted heroines who were COMPLEX, women who were INTERESTING, and they were determined to give (most of) the princesses realistic, believable, and unashamed flaws. These princesses were supposed to be relatable and a lady a normal girl could identify with. Perhaps this is why these princesses are generally preferred to the classics. These princesses had obvious dimensions to their personalities, and all were made to seem like a girl 당신 could run in to on the street.

Why 라푼젤 and 겨울왕국 are different.

A lot of people have been complaining that 겨울왕국 and 라푼젤 are so alike, how Anna and Rapunzel look like twins 또는 cousins and blah....well, I'm here to give reasons on why they're different.

1: Anna and Rapunzel

I know, I know, so Anna and Rapunzel "look alike." I feel like the 팬 say this because they were both structured the same, with a circle/oval head, the young eyes, and young face. Hey, at least they don't have the same hair color! Anna and Rapunzel were both made up 의해 the same base, meaning the same body, but with different looks, that's all!

Rapunzel is one of my favourite princesses. I'm tired of listening to people criticizing Rapunzel and saying that they don't like her for the same reasons, so I wanted to write an 기사 to explain why I don't agree with them.

Rapunzel is flawless

She is not perfect! She's very insecure and at the beginning she's not very brave. Also, she's indecisive. Of course, these flaws don't make her a bad character, but it's just easier to relate to her.

Rapunzel remains the same during all the film, she doesn't change.

Ok the truth is that we don't see a dramatic change in her character, like with Eugene....

Pocahontas has gone through a roller coaster on my list, most recently being 10th on my list, but I've always loved her. I 사랑 the color! Her eyes are a cold clear blue, and they make me feel like I'm glancing into the Arctic Circle. However, they are seemingly lashless and plain, which lands them at 13.
