Oh, thank you! I'm glad you're interviewing me too, you're a really cool member! I'm gonna have to do this in parts...

1. Congratulations! How does it feel to be 팬 of the Month?

Thank you! It feels awesome! It was really exciting because it meant my contributions were well accepted and people thought they were good.

2. Your 가장 좋아하는 Princess and why?

As always, Mulan. I just absolutely 사랑 her. She's smart and 메리다와 마법의 숲 and selfless. I 사랑 her character and her transformation. I 사랑 how she goes from the awkward, clumsy girl in the beginning to the confident woman in the end. My 가장 좋아하는 thing about that is that all of her traits and personality in the beginning is still there in the end, she has just learned to accept them. I 사랑 her darker sides of bitterness, disorganization, martyrdom, and 더 많이 subtle downfalls of her character. My 가장 좋아하는 thing is her struggle in character and how she has to discover who she is- and in the end, she fails just as much pretending to be a perfect man. She has to be completely herself to succeed. I 사랑 that she struggles to find herself, because it's so realistic. 당신 shouldn't have asked me why, I always give essays when asked why I 사랑 Mulan.

3. Your least 가장 좋아하는 Princess and why?

I'm not sure, my list is changing right now. I've got it down to one of three though- Jasmine, Merida, 또는 Cinderella. 재스민 속, 재 스민 because she's a hypocrite who lets 알라딘 treat her like "a prize to be won." Merida is going to be really difficult to place- she's a really interesting, compelling character, but I don't really LIKE her much, so it will be difficult for me to decide whether I place her based on her complexity 또는 likability. 신데렐라 is just unlucky. Lately, I've begun to appreciate all of the princesses more- except Cinderella. Well, I do appreciate her more, just to a lesser extent. It's really because I can't get emotionally involved in her movie.

4. Your 가장 좋아하는 Prince and why?

Shang. I 사랑 his selflessness, bravery, and development from arrogant new captain to strong leader. I also 사랑 his complex with his father.

5. Your least 가장 좋아하는 Prince and why?

Charming. I think he’s a jerk for the same reasons everybody does, and he doesn’t even learn Cinderella’s name. He’s also just so stilted and has such a bland personality (from what we see.)


6. Your 가장 좋아하는 DP villain and why?

Either Evil 퀸 또는 Shan Yu. Evil 퀸 because I just 사랑 her creepiness and find her really elegantly diabolical, I can’t really describe it. Shan Yu because of THE LITTLE GIRL.

7. Your least 가장 좋아하는 DP villain and why?

I think Gaston, almost because I like him. He isn’t either fierce and intimidating (Shan Yu) 또는 charismatic and elegant (Maleficent, Facilier.) I don’t really know, though.

8. Your 가장 좋아하는 DP movie and why?

Mulan. I 사랑 the humor, the story, the characters, the music, the animation- I just really 사랑 this movie. It’s my all-time favorite. I especially 사랑 the way gender issues are addressed- there is a lot of good humor (you know when 당신 get those manly urges,) but it also handled really well. 뮬란 doesn’t fit perfectly in either, and I really like that.

9. If 당신 could chose one 디즈니 heroine to be in the line-up, who would it be? Where would they rank on your pretty list and 가장 좋아하는 list?

Objectively, Esmeralda 또는 Jane would probably be the best. I’d pick Jane of the two. Since my list is changing, I don’t know where she’d rank, but probably in the 상단, 맨 위로 five. She’d be 3rd (above Mulan) 또는 4th (above Ariel) in prettiness. If I just picked who I wanted, it would be Kida. I 사랑 how she gives up herself for her people. I 사랑 her devotion to keeping her people’s culture alive. I just really 사랑 Kida. She and Pocahontas would be constantly fighting for 2 (I think Pocahontas would usually win.) She’d either be 4th (above Ariel again) 또는 5th (above Snow White) in prettiness.

10. Which Princess do 당신 relate to most and why?

Belle. I also like 읽기 and feel like an outcast, all the normal reasons. I also hate my community, I’m surrounded 의해 superficial snobs. However, I also think I am like Belle in 더 많이 significant ways. Like Belle, I have difficulty expressing my real feelings with people. I tend to talk around things (like when Belle called Gaston a bunch of names he wouldn’t understand.) I also would be like Belle in that I will defend myself even when I know I’m in the wrong. I also think I can be a bit of an intellectual snob, like Belle. Like Belle, I also feel that my learning separates me from people- I’m almost never invited to things with my friends. I also relate to Rapunzel because I feel like the way my mind works isolate me from others.

11. Who is your...

- Prettiest? Pocahontas!
- Funniest? Rapunzel, maybe?
- Smartest? Mulan. She takes down the greatest warlord with her fan.
- Nicest? Snow White
- Most underrated? Aurora

- Most annoying? Merida 또는 재스민 속, 재 스민 (for claiming to be all independent-tough-girl and needing to get saved all the time)

12. Your 가장 좋아하는 DP couple and why?

Tiana and Naveen. I just 사랑 them, and have no real good reason why! I 사랑 their chemistry, though.

13. Your least 가장 좋아하는 DP couple and why?

신데렐라 and Charming. I’ve convinced myself 신데렐라 was being and opportunist falling in 사랑 with Charming because I dislike the pair so much.

14. Your 가장 좋아하는 DP song and why?

I Wonder 또는 Just Around the Riverbend. I feel like they are very different songs that both convey similar messages of wanting discovery and to know more.

15. Your least 가장 좋아하는 DP song and why?

When Will My Life Begin Reprise. Bad tune of the original with “like” thrown in as a verbal pause in one of the most tender moments of the movie. Frustrates me.

Ariel. I think I would really 사랑 her enthusiasm and we would both 사랑 exploring together. I also think we both have a lot of fascination.

22. Which DP do 당신 think 당신 would not get along with and why?

Merida, probably. I think I’d roll my eyes at her a lot. I don’t know, though.

23. 가장 좋아하는 crossover couple? (the princess with another 디즈니 character 또는 prince)

I’m not big into crossover.
24. Have 당신 ever been to any of the 디즈니 theme parks? Which one? If not, which one would 당신 like to go to?

Disneyland. I want to go to Disneyworld to see New Fantasyland and meet a 뮬란 face character.

25. What are your hopes on...

- Fanpop? That this sight continues to be active and that we continue to address 더 많이 thought-provoking topics
- Frozen? I just want it to be a good movie that doesn’t knock off Tangled. And that Elsa isn’t included in the lineup.
- Future 디즈니 movies? Lately I’ve been coming up with some ideas for a story about Macchu Picchu (that’s probably not spelled right.) I think that could be really cool. But I just want them to step outside their comfort zone 더 많이 and not restrict themselves in their stories the way they have done in the past.
