In light of the actual “fairy tale trend” in TV and movie, I recently realized how much the 디즈니 영화 have “taken over” the fairy tales they are based on, and how few people actually know the story they are based on. Because of this, I’ll compare the Disney-Version with the 출처 text, and I’ll recommend a few other adaptations I really like. I’ll only take a look at the fairy tales – meaning I’ll skip Pocahontas and Mulan, since they are not part of my culture. Perhaps someone who grew up with those stories is ready to do a small piece about them?

Considering that 디즈니 seems to stay very close to the 출처 text, they actually changed quite a lot about Snow White’s story. First of all, they skipped the beginning. In that one, the 퀸 (the good one) is sitting in the winter at the window stitching. She stings herself in the finger, and three drops of blood fall in the snow. This inspires her to wish for a child, as white as snow, as red as blood and as black as ebony (like her stitching 또는 the window frame, that’s not really clear). Then she dies shortly after Snow White’s birth. To defend Disney: The original Fairy Tale never explains what happens to the father; after he remarries, he just vanishes from the story. When the main story starts, Snow White is only seven (numbers are somewhat important, the three and the seven turns up a couple of times). She never sings into a wishing well, and she never meets the prince before the hunter is send out to murder her (and again, he also just vanishes from the story). Snow White does not clean the 집 of the dwarves, in fact she (quite rudely) rummages through the house, sits on the chair of one of them, eats the 빵 of another – I spare 당신 the details. The dwarves (who don’t have names 또는 different personalities) come home, discover what she has done and then find her in one of the beds, and she live with them from that point onward – it’s not really clear how long, but the Evil 퀸 turns up at her doorstep three times to kill her. With a 몸통 부분, 보 디스 she puts so tight around Snow Whites body that she nearly suffocates, with a poisoned comp and finally with the apple. Two times the dwarves come 집 in time, the third time they are too late, and they put Snow White in the coffin. A prince hears about the beautiful maid in the coffin, visits her and is so fascinated 의해 her beauty, that he convinces the dwarves to give him the coffin (why he wants to stare at the death body, never mind how beautiful it is, I really don’t want to guess). THERE IS NO KISS! When the dwarves transport the coffin, one stumbles, and a piece of 사과, 애플 with was lodged in Snow White throat falls out. She awakes, marries the prince, and when the Evil 퀸 hears from her mirror that the young bride is 더 많이 beautiful than her, she comes to the wedding. There she is forced to dance glowing iron shoes until she is death (compared to that falling down, getting crushed and getting eaten 의해 vultures sounds like the better alternative).

There have been a lot of discussions in which country the movie is set. My answer is: In 디즈니 Fairy Tale Land. The architecture of the 성 and the 디자인 of the dwarves’ house would fit in some parts of Germany 또는 German speaking countries like Switzerland, no question. But the wildlife does not. The only kind of 터틀, 거북 당신 can find (rarely) in Germany is much smaller and can’t stay out of the water for any length of time. Reptiles are not exactly common in general, considering the cold climate, especially not alligators. Chipmunks are native to Asia and North America, Bluebirds live only in America. And those are just the most obvious examples. Not that I blame 디즈니 (much). Back then, it would have been impossible to do a trip to Germany, and it's easier to draw what 당신 have seen in reality than to rely on pictures.

A word about the dwarves: There is sometimes a little bit confusion, because the 제목 says dwarves, while in the movie they are referred to as “little people”. I’m not sure if either word really has the same connotation for an English speaking audience, as the word “Zwerg” has for the German one. If we hear “Zwerg” we tend to think about the Snow White Characters and about “Gartenzwerge” – known in English as “garden gnomes”. I suspect both translations used for the movie are somewhat right and somewhat wrong.

I’ve to say, I dislike most of the adaptations of the story, especially those who emphasize the 고딕 aspect. But there is one beside of the one from 디즈니 I really like: The German version from 1955. It might not be political correct nowadays, because one of the added characters is a stereotypical black servant boy, but it has it’s very own charm overall. It’s very close to the 출처 text; the only thing they changed is Snow White’s age, the death of the 퀸 and roles of the Hunter and the Prince got expanded to avoid some of the plot holes. In this regard, I think, this version is actually better than the 디즈니 one – less characters who just fade into the background. To my great surprise, I discovered that there actually is an English dubbed version of it (not a good one, but better than nothing), it was even issued on DVD. One of my 가장 좋아하는 songs of all time.
One of my favorite songs of all time.
Disney's 겨울왕국 is receiving rave reviews, and the song"Let It Go"is one of the highlights of the film.Don't take my word for it-Wikipedia,as usual is great for such simple backround facts.I have decided that Elsa is my 가장 좋아하는 디즈니 character, but I'm having internal 토론 whether"Let It Go"is my 가장 좋아하는 디즈니 song-time will tell, but I'm leaning towards"yes".On my 구글 검색 history, there are queries such as "Let It Go is brilliant" and "Frozen Let It Go analysis",but having found nothing satisfactory,I've decided to write this post instead.
There has been much written about Let It...

I've never done this before. And as a new user, I'm pretty sure that I'm dipping into a kind of no-man's land, here.

I primarily judge 디즈니 princesses not 의해 their looks 또는 anything, but 의해 their character, and 의해 their plot-lines. Some of the 디즈니 princesses are less developed than others, in my opinion, and that might be partially due to the story/plot-line itself ( as most of 디즈니 is adaptation-based).

Some of the characteristics of each princess I find admirable, while other traits I just find...for lack of a better term...irritating. Yeah.

I'm going to rate the 디즈니 princesses...

This is a serious article. Eyebrows frame your face so 당신 need to have the right pair. I spend way too much time plucking and grooming my eyebrows so yeah, I think eyebrows are very aesthetically important. I noticed the results look a bit like my non-existent prettiest Princess list with a few exceptions of course.

13. Mulan
They are Asian looking alright, with the shape. I promise I don't have anything against big eyebrows but Mulan's kind of overpower her eyes and they look a bit untamed. They are definitely not bad, just comparing to the others. Shang has nice strong arched eyebrows though....

One of the best things about 디즈니 princess films are their princesses(obviously) and songs. As a singer, 음악 lover, and actor, I've always paid close attention to the voices that bring these wonderful characters and songs to life. I am picky about the voices I like but can admit that no princess has a bad voice, some are just much better than others. Share your opinions.
13. Snow White
Let me begin 의해 saying that I'm ranking both 노래 and speaking voices and that even though she's at the bottom, I don't hate Snow White's voice. Let's be honest here, most people find her voice to be annoying....
