For one she's chinese so it helps with ethnic diversity and 초 she's iconic as all the other princesses so she was 인기 enough to be a princess besides she's always been a princess in my eyes
*Sigh* This 질문 has been answered multiple times, but I'll answer it.
디즈니 has considered 뮬란 a honorary princess to add ethnic diversity to the group. Basically all of the princesses are mostly European looking, so they needed to add other girls from different backgrounds in order to not appear racist, and to give little girls from different cultures someone to relate to.

I don't understand why she is considered a princess either. If 디즈니 wanted to have a princess with another ethnic background, then they should have made her an actual princess. Just my thoughts :)
I guess they liked the soldier story about 뮬란 and made that. And because she was Asian, 디즈니 simply included her with the other girls, giving her the 제목 of a "princess". I guess 디즈니 didn't feel like making a story set in Asia again to create an actual princess. There was already an Asian character and they just plugged her in. Let her have her title. She is part of 디즈니 royalty.
Yeah, to have different backgrounds. 뮬란 is like 신데렐라 in the Western background, she's 인기 in China. I asked my mom if 뮬란 was a real person, she said yes, and my dad agrees too. (I'm Chinese.) That's how important it is. 뮬란 seemed to have a good enough story/lesson/epicness to a story so 디즈니 made it and now it's pretty well known.
