Here's some stuff I remembered seeing:
Awww Oh, Snap! Quiz Retro Silly Whoa Yum
Disney women are creative, brave, bold, and independent. They dream big, stand up for what’s right, and work hard to finish what they start. Their persuasion can build a nation (made of ice, or otherwise); their courage, kindness, and strength shines through them. Basically, they’re super powerful and this is our tribute to their unstoppable spirits.
Belle wanted adventure in the great wide somewhere, and she found it in the most unexpected place—an enchanted castle full of magic and mystery. The path to her happy ending wasn’t what she was thought it would be, but ultimately, Belle saved the Beast and her father, and thanks to her courageous spirit, found much, much more than her previously provincial life.
Don’t let her gentle, pretty voice fool you: Miss Bianca is a trooper. Oftentimes, she’s the brave one, helping Bernard keep his anxiety at bay so they can work to rescue Penny. She goes up against diamond-hungry villains, giant alligators, and more, all in the name of rescuing an orphan. If that’s not powerful, we don’t know what is.
Mulan is a total boss. Like Belle, she’s protective of her family, and will stop at nothing to make sure they are safe. Not only did she become an awesome fighter, she found a new strength and purpose within herself.
Quick-witted, clever Meg is one of the coolest girls around. She’s smart, keeps Hercules on his toes, and has the strength to take chances (even after her heart has been broken).
You don’t want to mess with Lady Kluck (we’d understand if you chickened out of an archery match with her). She’s always one step ahead of potential threats and has no time for fowl play.
Can you carry two baskets of laundry and balance a tea tray on your head? Cinderella somehow managed to run a whole household on her own while caring for the most demanding step family ever (and a mischievous cat). More impressive? She never compromised her beliefs of being kind to others and staying true to herself.
Sarabi raised Simba from cub to brave lion, but without the urging of Nala he may have never returned to Pride Rock to defeat Scar and restore peace and justice to the savannah. Nala believed in Simba before he believed in himself. Nala, you’re the real MVP.
Tiana worked tirelessly to pursue her dream of becoming a chef and owning a restaurant. The whole turning-into-a-frog thing causes a bit of a detour, but in the end she achieves her goal because she never gives up.
Dastardly cheetahs are no match for Kala. When she finds baby Tarzan and pledges to care for him, species no longer matters, he’s her son and she’ll protect him with all her might.
Merida is known for being free-spirited and following her own path, rather than conforming to tradition. She runs into many challenges, but uses her problem-solving skills to make things right. Plus, she’s a pro at archery, horse riding, and (eventually) weaving tapestries; a Highland triple-threat.
Kanga doesn’t just act as a mom for little Roo, she’s a matronly figure for the everyone in the Hundred Acre Wood. A shining beacon of guidance and warmth, she always seems to have the best advice (and pretty flowers, too).
Pocahontas is independent and thinks for herself. She’s willing to stand up for what she believes in and follows her heart. Even in the face of turmoil, she strives for peace and courageously speaks up when something doesn’t seem right.
Under Scar’s evil reign, Sarabi stays strong and leads the pride of lions, helping them press on. Even when hope seemed lost, Sarabi never gave up.
Lady is more than just a cute pup face. She cares about her people-family, and will go to any lengths (be them only to the end of her leash) to defend them. Evil rats are no match for her ferocity.
For a girl who has been locked in a tower her whole life, Rapunzel has impressive wisdom and street smarts. Wielding her trusty frying pan, she ventures out into a world she’s only imagined from the confines of her walls. She is willing to take chances and finally achieves her dream of seeing the floating lanterns gleam!
Wendy is the voice of reason in situations where reason and logic are otherwise entirely lost. When her brothers attempt to join a pirate gang, she is quick to step in and remind them of the flaws of this plan. Who runs the ship? Wendy.
These sisters really do run the world (kingdom) of Arendelle. With the power of love they made it through even the coldest winter.
Nani and Lilo have their differences, but they overcome them because they know that family, ‘
, is what really matters. When it comes to outsmarting alien overlords, you have to stick together.
Behind every Beast is a great tea pot. Mrs. Potts makes sure everything runs smoothly around the castle, and is the only object Brave enough to tell Beast the truth, even when he doesn’t want to hear, gets angry, and does some serious yelling. An all-around powerful and awesome Disney lady … err, lady-turned-teapot-turned-lady.
Marie keeps everyone around her in check. She can hold her own in a fight and is quick to tell her rambunctious siblings what’s what.
Sugar, spice, and everything nice is a good description for the kind fox, Maid Marian. When little children sneak through her gate, instead of shooing them away she just steals some cuddles and kisses. She knows that kindness gives you strength.
Jane was in for a bit of a culture shock when she traveled from familiar, orderly surroundings to the middle of the jungle. Fortunately, her curious and open-minded nature meant she could handle anything that came her way. (Even a pack of cute little baby gorillas.)
Ariel’s imagination is as vast and deep as the ocean. Her keen curiosity and thirst for adventure led her to land, legs, and a life of proper cutlery usage.
This is a mere sample of the awesomeness that is the women of Disney movies. Which Disney lady is your favorite? Tell us in the comments!
