With all my dislike to her writing style and not being a fan of the series in general, I find it ridiculous to blame the author of fiction for some stupid and crazy things done by stupid and crazy people that did them for various personal reasons starting from their parents not teaching them how to behave and finishing with some obvious psychological issues.

Her books are shit, but yeah, she can't help that her fans turned into Kathy Bates from Misery. I don't believe any author has any control over how their fans will act. You'd like to blame her, but in the end. You just can't.
