Having watched the whole of Season 1 of DC's Legends of Tomorrow, I'm not entirely sure where the 삼각형 comes in and why the writers placed so much emphasis on it.

Kendra and Carter have known each other and loved one another for the last 4000 years and 206/207 lifetimes. This seems, to me at least, that this relationship has 더 많이 importance to the show and to both characters. As everyone who either watches the Flash 또는 애로우 knows, the crossover episodes Legends of Today and Legends of Yesterday implies that Carter remembers his past lifetimes, including his first as Prince Khufu - which is where the information about Savage comes from -, and that Kendra is starting to remember her lifetimes, beginning with that all important first lifetime where she is Priestess Chay-Ara. As we go through Season 1, she starts to have 더 많이 and 더 많이 memory flashes as well as an important scene between Kendra and one of her past selves named Cinnamon in 1x11 (Magnificent Eight), which imply if not outright state that having a relationship with anyone other than Carter ends up in tragedy 또는 heartbreak. This, I feel, is important to Kendra as she comes 더 많이 and 더 많이 to terms with what her and Carter's dynamic is.

Episode 1 and 2 of Season 1 of LoT show Carter and Kendra together. Carter accepts that he will only be able to 사랑 Kendra, seeing as he was already awake in the crossover episodes, and has reason to believe, through the 206 lifetimes he's lived, that this is true. How do 당신 go through 4000 years and 206 lifetimes of loving the same person and not 사랑 the current incarnation? For some unknown but at the same time understandable reason, Kendra refuses to see what is right in front of her. She's had a massive, probably mildly traumatic, experience of a madman trying to kill her and then a case of identity crises is dropped in her lap. She goes from understanding and knowing who she is to someone she doesn't. Carter is the only one, other than Sara and later Mick, to understand what is like being killed and then reborn.

In 1x13 (Leviathan), Kendra picks up Carter's mace, triggering a memory flashback which tells the viewers that the pair have been married in EIGHT/NINE lifetimes. This puts some of Carter's actions in the pilot episodes in a different light, not matter how creepy they can come across. Look at it another way category. When he tries to 키스 her and she pushes him away, whats not to say he is trying to 키스 her on the cheek? The touching as well. If they were married and Carter remembered those marriages, it blurs the lines of their relationship. It also brings the constant, "God if only 당신 knew how much I 사랑 you!" in Pilot: Part 1 into prospective. If he's loved her in all 206 of his lifetimes, why shouldn't it be the same for lifetime no. 207?

This becomes apparent later in the same episode and in 1x14 (River of Time) where one of Savage's soldiers is revealed to be the 다음 incarnation of Carter. Kendra is forced to make an impossible decision - kill Savage and doom Carter 또는 imprison Savage and possibly saving Carter. In choosing to save Carter, seeing as she now sees Carter as her rock and confidant, the person to always believe in her strength, she understands and trusts him like he trusted her at the beginning of the Season.

However, when Kendra was paired up with Ray, I think it was important for both to see what was right in front of them. Kendra needed to see and understand what Cinnamon meant when she said "Tragedy 또는 Heartbreak if the man's not Carter," and 레이 needed the chance to see that he could 옮기기 앞으로 from Anna's death in the 찌르레기, starling City Siege and live his life without feeling like he was betraying her.

This is why I believe the writers killed off Carter in Pilot: Part 2 and then brought him back in episode 13, placing such an importance, through Kendra's flashbacks on the millennial's old relationship.
