What kind of adventure books? Does he read science fiction? Because if he does, he might like A Wrinkle in Time 의해 Madeleine L'Engle (an amazing book but the beginning is quite slow). Also, the Mortal Engines series 의해 Philip Reeve is quite good although no one I know has heard of it.

If all else fails, just try a classic like the Thirty Nine Steps 의해 John Buchan (I haven't actually read this one but my brother has and he said it was really good. It's sort of a world war one spy thriller)
