After a radio silence from two years, Avril Lavigne, afraid of the camera's, made herself free of boyfriend Brody Jenner to let the 팬 and the media hear what Goodbye Lullaby is all about. During her promotional tour she went to Paris, where Stars Magazine got 15 분 of her time to interview her! In the luxe hotel Georges V, the singer told us all about her 음악 and clothing line... About your new album, Goodbye Lullaby, 당신 told: "I've never shown myself from such an emotional side".
Of course all my cd's are personal, but Goodbye Lullaby is from a whole different level then my other work. The atmosphere is 더 많이 consistent of all. Except for the first single What The Hell, which is an up-beat poprock song, the rest of the album is deep. I always write about things I experienced, for example a funny situation where I was in 또는 an adventure from a friend. The numbers on Goodbye Lullaby are very emotional this time.
They say Goodbye is your 가장 좋아하는 track. What is the song about?
I wrote and produced this song on my own. It was very hard to do, because I put all my feelings and emotions in this song. I couldn't tell how people would react to this song. But.. I wanted to be true to the song. It's really hard to sing for me. I don't know if I'm going to sing this song live.
(The song is, almost sure, about the divorce with ex-husband Deryck Whibley, but Avril didn't want to 확인 this.)
A song on your album and one of your perfumes is called Black Star. Is there a reason for that?
I've called my perfume Black Star, because it stands for 'Unique' 또는 'being individual'. 당신 know it's okay to stand out in a crowd. The message behind the fragrance is: do your own thing, follow your dreams! The song Black 별, 스타 I wrote because everyone can interpretate this different. For me, personally, it means: be yourself, be who 당신 are, it's okay to be different.
In the What The Hell video, 당신 play a chick who doesn't want to be too close to a boyfriend. But on paparazzi photo's we always see 당신 together with your lover. Who is the real Avril?
I'm very independent and a strong person, but I 사랑 to be in love! I'm going for a serious relationship, but 당신 will never hear me talk about it. It's a subject I like to keep for myself.
Media accuse 당신 of making advertisment for your clothing line and perfume in your video. What do 당신 think about that?
Ha! 당신 know, I've been around for 10 years in the 음악 and I've got the chance to experience other creative ideas like creating my clothing line Abbey Dawn. If Abbey Dawn would be a silly project I wouldn't let the name Abbey Dawn tattooed on my arm (shows us her tattoo). Abbey Dawn is a nickname my father gave when I was a child. It's a very big deal for me.
About the perfumes, it all belongs there. I create them, it's all me. And it's, just like fashion, a big part of what I do.
Is it right that 당신 want a small collection of Abbey Dawn out every month?
Yes! It's available on abbeydawn.com for 더 많이 then 50 countries. It's recently international available, so I'm so happy about that. It's not only for juniors any more. Abbey Dawn is for everyone. I have a new 디자인 team, and I'm busy making high heels and bags. The quality of the clothes had progressed.
How is your taste of clothes changed through the years?
I'm 더 많이 into fashion then I ever was. Believe it 또는 not, but sometimes I wear a dress with high heels.
Are 당신 still the skater girl from when 당신 were young?
Well... I still like to wear baggy clothes. Also I'm very into sport: I like surfing, skateboarding, sailing, camping. Yeah, that kind of stuff!
Is designing clothes something for you?
Oh yes, I 사랑 Chanel, Betsey Johnson and Tarina Tarantino.
Last question, 당신 recently wrote on twitter: "OMG, I just got a Hello Kitty sk8board from "DAM" magazine. So dope!" Are 당신 getting a lot of free stuff and what do 당신 like the most?
The funny thing is, when I wrote about the skateboard, they sent me a bracelet as well. It's so cool. I think it's real silver. It's from Japan, they sent me a lot of free stuff. But I'm getting a lot less stuff then I used to get, haha!
