season 3 finale has ended the show with an unintentional cliffhanger after it was axed by by Starz following dwindling ratings.

Despite the network and cast praising the TV spin-off of the gruesome horror comedy saga, the show ended somewhat abruptly with an unresolved ending.

\'The Mettle of the Man\' sees Ash wake up in a post-apocalyptic future after waking from cryosleep. He\'s joined by a Knights of Sumeria warrior. But the fates of the other characters and the Ash\'s future in this weird new world are left hanging.

It seems likely the show had more plans for the future, which will never come to fruition and fans were similarly frustrated by how things played out.

The final episode of Ash vs Evil Dead, even if it\'s an accidental series finale, ends on an appropriate cliffhanger reminiscent of the director\'s cut of Army of Darkness. Frustrating that nothing more will ever come of it, but I\'m okay with this being the end of Ash\'s story.

While some begged Netflix to rescue the show from perishing, although this seems unlikely given it\'s April 15 outing only pulled in 175,000 viewers without catch up.

Speaking about the show\'s end, franchise hero Bruce Campbell said: "

Let\'s hope Bruce Campbell changes his mind about the idea of another movie one day, but at least we know there\'s a possibility Evil Dead 4 could still happen...

Ash vs Evil Dead is set to conclude on Sunday, April 29 in the US. In the UK, the season finale will be available on Monday, April 30 on Virgin TV on demand.
